Changing Titan Exhaust, How To Article!
|
There is an excellent article/instructional with plenty of photos on how to change the Titan exhaust over to a Gibson. It is located on page# 46 of the November 2004 issue of Sport Truck magazine. The title is "Titan 3-Inch Exhaust" by John O'Neill. The step by step instructional will show a novice how to do it. I had an experienced friend do mine but had I seen this article, I could have done it myself. The extra 12 hp, 13Lb -ft, few mpg's and nice rumble are worth it! The article does not cover price or choice of aluminum over their stainless steel pick. I chose aluminum which was cheaper than all stainless steel at $375 with no tax or shipping charges from AJUSA.com. Note: it actually cost $365 because of a $10 gift certificate from a previous K&N filter purchase. The stainless steel choice is $535. It is important to note the prices and article are for the "Side Swept Exhaust". The side exit location makes this the ideal choice if you pull a trailer, have a camper shell on your truck, or own a van or SUV. The other choices include Dual Sport Exhaust, Split Rear Exhaust and Extreme Dual Exhaust. The aluminum choice does give you a chrome tip which we personally spot welded on and changed the clamp bolt to a chrome one to prevent rust. There are other fine after market brands out there which these basic instructions would apply to as well.
