Welcome to Titan Talk star36..........my passenger door handle was cranky a few days ago...had to lift it twice to open.......It was not frozen or wet.........and I'm sure it will be back. I'd wait til your dealer has the part verses leaving it for 6 days or more.........ouch........that's a bummer.
It seems others are having this problem also......you may want to search on the history of this little buggie! Peace-Tom Bass Ale

This is a common problem. Mine is at the shop as we speak reparing the same problem. Took one month to get the parts. Mechanic states that moisture is getting into the cable and linkage causing it to freeze. He states that they are replacing most of them now with cables that have a cover over the linkage to prevent moisture from entering.
Same here! I have been entering through the passenger side door for over a week. My dealer has ordered the parts and they are on back order! Oh well should warm up by the time they get in!
The door handles have been countermeasured. It is a wise move to remove the door panels and lube the cables with Protectall or Triflow if the temps are really cold. Water is condensing in the cables when the car is warm and freezing over night.

How were the handles countermeasured ? New mechanism, cables ? And where are you getting your info from??
I'm really looking for a fix and I'm interested in anything you know or have tried.
Today was above 32F so my handles worked fine. I'm holding off removing the door panel until it warms up a bit. Less chance of breaking clips etc.
My dealer says it may be due to poor low temp grease. I don't agreesince the cable may just get sticky - that's not happening. I agree, the problem is water/condensation because it freezes SOLID just below 32F.
