My Homelink button is always on even when car is off. I think this poses as a security risk into my garage. How do you power off the homelink so that when the key in ignition is in the off position so is the homelink?

Too many mods to list PM me I'll tell ya.
Sorry I don't have a fix for you, but ... With most door opener remotes being battery operated they are always on too.

This is an interesting point. Having thousands of code combinations from a rolling code door opener is no good if all a theif has to do is break in your truck and press the button. To eliminate the problem with a non Homelink remote all a person had to do is carry the remote control inside the house at night.
Thanks to you, I now know to lock the garage door from the inside when I go on vacation and the Titan is left parked in the driveway.

Most thieves are stupid, although it could happen I doubt that many thieves would know which vehicle had home link or not. Even then they would have to know where the transmitter on the truck was located.
I'd be more afraid of getting struck by lightning.

I believe that what he is trying to point out is that if his truck gets broken in to, then a thief would then have easy access to his garage.
Right on the money VShort.

This would be the preferred method.
With remotes they can be hidden away but the homelink is in plain view and always in the "Same" place. I probably should not have mentioned this problem...now a "Smart Thief" can get in.

Not sure if this will help any or if anyone is still looking at this thread, but I have ripped out a couple homelink modules from the visors of dodge and chrysler cars to mount on my sportbike, The one's I ripped out only run on 2 wires (pos & neg) but if I remember right, if you were to disconnect it from the constant power, you would lose the memory of the code you are trying to send. I am almost positive that is how the older versions worked, I have two different ones(rolling codes, and non)I would be happy to hook one back up to test this theory further if anyone is still interested
