Purchased a Volant air intake system for 2005 Titan off road truck. The info on the kit says 20 minutes to install. After 1.5 hours of trying to get the hole in the filter box to match up with the stock stud hole on the fender well, I gave up. I tried everything to get the kit bolt in the threaded hole. If I could have made that connection, then the rest of the installation would been a piece of cake. Also, do the two tubes coming off of the volant air flow duct replace all the stock stuff? Is there anyone out there that can help or that has directions to install this 20 minute kit? thanks

I don't have your answers, but I CAN tell you to try the search option. Mountains of info has been compiled on the Volant. I've seen all sorts of installation photos and good literature. Good luck and I hope you figure it out. It sounds to me like you are just missing something. By the way, welcome to the board. I see this is your first post.

It's a simple process and it only took me 20 minutes, everything matched up.
I lined up the box vent with the fender well and then put the mounting bolt into the hole at the bottom of the box, you may want to use the OEM bolt from your stock box, that should help you a little bit.
Here's a post that gives you install instructions straight from Joe at Volant:

Sounds like he may have purchased the "old" Volant??
Version #1 of the Volant for the Titan had some fitment issues. If you do a search you should find a few threads that talk about this. (Fitment issues have since been rectified)
I ordered one last week and was afraid that I may get an "old" one also. So I called Volant and they took one off their shelf and sent it out. Should be here in a few days. I hope mine fits.
Good luck with yours. I too am hoping that install is quick and easy. Reading your post has me a little worried.

Thanks for the tips. I got the Volant air intake system on with a little help from my friends. The housing for the air filter was the hardest part of the installation for me.
I was wonder what would offer better performance...the K & N air charger or the Volant? I'm thinking getting one these puppies, but I've heard good things about both & I'm not sure which to get.
I have heard of the Brute Force. It seems like everything is for the 04 Titan. I just bought a 05. I know that same generation parts aren't always compatible...Any idea what is as far as induction & exhaust? Not to be corny, but I'm sure glad that there's a forum like this!!
for those who want cold Air but have an open filter in the Engine bay sucking in hot air ...how bout one of these Ractive Heatsheild Filters ...............then run to home Depot and buy some Ducting to place on the end of it and run it into the hole in the fender. There is flex tubing to but i could not find it online.
I did this to my tercel. The duct opening matched dead on with the opening of the Ractive filter heat sheild.
or buy the Ractive Heatsheild then run to autozone and buy one of those flex tube ducts supposed to be a ram air duct or something like that ..i couldnt find it online but i saw it next to the import airfilters
here are some pics of filter and duct
there is an adaptor to go from 5 inch to 4 inch opening to connect the filter to the ducting ...... the opening of the heat sheild is 5 inches and the ducing is 4 inches .. the adaptor is sold at home depot as well but i cannot find a pic.
