Ok, here's what ya gotta do, There is a long plastic insert in the door handle. (what you pull on to shut the door not the one to open the door) Usually different color than the rest of the door panel. You have to pop that out to access 1or2 screws. Then you have to take the arm rest off. It is pretty difficult to get it to pop off so be careful you don't break off the tabs. Under the arm rest there are 1 or 2 screws. Take them out. You also have to take out the window switch before pulling the panel off. And the light at the bottom of the door. The rest of the panel is held on by push clips. Just grab the bottom of the door panel and pull. It will come off.

are the 06's different? I didnt have to take off my arm rest in my 04...

added a picture...it should be the same Im thinkin from 04 to 06 but if its different (Ive never actually seen the inside of an 06 yet)just disregard...but I believe there are u screws in the first little panel(bigger circle) and one under the cap (smaller circle) then just pull off...its held on by clips...hope it helps..

Mirror Swap Illustrated

Go to this site:

http://www.kwmuth.com/techsupport/pdfs/21001030.pdf

from the Muth Company which makes the signalling mirror conversion. very easy to follow. HINT: If you print it for reference, print it in color or you won't be able to see it very well. I did the signal mirror conversion from these instructions and it was quite simple.

Good luck

Re: mirror swap

Are you interested in selling the BT mirrors? I would not mind having a set for boating season.

mine ('05 SE) has a screw behind the lever/handle that opens the door.

Re: mirror swap

I'm doing the opposite-putting the big tows on. When I removed the smaller mirrors I thought I could just transfer the mounting studs over but they are a different thread pattern. I went to the dealer and he shows an additional bracket and bolts for this install. Anyone got experience with this? Thanks

Re: mirror swap

On mine, the pattern was the same, but Big Tow uses the plate with the long studs to give added strength since the mirrors see much higher aero loads. Can you order the plates and studs from the dealer?

Re: mirror swap

Yes, I ordered the bracket and studs (bolts) thru my local dealer. I looked in a new box of BT mirrors and they only had one stud installed at the bottom of the plate (has rubber liner over top). They couldn't explain why only one would come with the mirrors even if you bought them new. Since the threads were different, I didn't want to strip anything out, so I ordered new ones.
