I'm just wondering if anybody has done the Intake Air Temp mod on a Titan?
I did it on my old 4.0 ranger and it really woke it up! I looked at the mas and there are 4 wires coming out of it instead of 2 so I am not messing with it until I can get a diagram. I work at Earnhardt Nissan in Mesa,Az so hopefully it won't be to hard.
sounds promising..... let us know what you find out

Is this the resistor mod? I have read a lot about these and they do work. The resistor fools the computer into thinking it is a cooler temp all of the time and in turn you get more fuel injected. I have seen a lot of these mods on EBAY and just have pursued one yet. If you do get one let us know the resistor value(by the color bands) and where it gets installed. Good luck
Did you ever do this and how did it work if you did? I got the chip off of ebay but don't know where to put it and don't want to use it if it doesn't work?

Did you ever do this and did it work and if it did where is the sensor located where I would need to put it? I bought one of those off of ebay and I am very skeptical. I have a 2007 Titan
Nobody has been accepting of such a Mod, and many have been concerned it could cause damage by messing up the AFR. I wouldn't touch this with a 10 foot pole.

Why would anyone try this, does not anyone think about things before doing them or even think about it really. Number 1, if you send erroneous readings to the ECU saying it has denser air (aka cooler) and it sends more fuel, have you not just messed with the optimum fuel air mixture ratio? Think about it, the motor needs the proper amount of fuel with the proper amount of air, if you tell the computer it has more air ( in reality denser air) the air really hasn't changed, it adds more fuel upsetting that air/fuel ratio. Who in their right mind thinks that running a motor that much richer is going to improve economy or performance. Learn the concepts on how an engine works, and understand it. You will spend far less time on insane ideas such as these and waste alot less money, and time. Anytime you see this stuff on ebay, and see how many people have bought them, just remember, there is a sucker born everyday, it just seems that they are multiplying by the thousands anymore.
Sttail is right every mod hopefully does what is supposed to do but it will also effect other components and/or systems. Slapping an NOS system on your Titan is a cool idea but you need to think down the road about toasted pistons and smoked valves and the rest of the things that can go wrong. Nissan engineers spend alot of time thinking about your trucks performance and they also keep in mind that guys will want to do mods. So before doing any mod think it through, plan it out in such a way that one mod befits the next etc.
I too had bought the chip and was wondering of the wiring diagram. Which 2 wires are actually the IAT on the MAF. It is an easy install as long as you know which wires to adapt on.
If the truck seems not to be right after the MOD, then just disconnect it.
Maybe I should just buy a trophy truck........What you guys think?
I'll sell you mine for $30k!! LoL
She's ran in the 13's N/A!

Look back at previous responses. If you give erroneous temp info to the ECU, then it will give improper AFR. Air temp affects density which affects mixture ratio for proper burn. Performance will decrease, Economy will decrease, Cost increase, etc.
How will you know if it "seems not to be right after the MOD"? "Know" means factual, not opinion or feel.
Only by using diagnostic software such as autoenginuety or UpRev's Cipher, will you "know" if it is right. In that case, why not purchase a real tune from UpRev and monitor results through the computer and on board sensors Nissan provides.
I don't understand why somebody would want to give false data input to a computer and then expect the computer to give proper, functional data output to gain performance.
Dawgs77 offer may be a better choice if you want a trophy truck. Or buy a matchbox truck for $1.50. They run well too.

If its messing with AFR and "tricking" the ECU it is going to do one of 2 things....
1) can run too lean since the ECU will not know what the correct temp and airflow (also elevation changes air desity and truck wont adapt), you know are a prime candidate to burn a hole in the piston and launch the motor.
2) Dumps too much fuel constantle (giveing worse milage) and burning up the CATs that we all know are too close to the block and prone to failure from high heat and unburnt fuel. CATs break apart and suck back into motor launching it as well.
I cannot believe these asshats on ebay are still allowed to false advertise and are not fined, arrested, and beheaded. Taking advantage of people ever since the hoax with the "turbonator". New rule of thumb. Pep Boys does NOT i repeat does NOT sell performance parts lol
Personally I think you'd be better spraying nitros into the intake tube after the MAF (and that's seriously retarded) than trying to fool the MAF with some stupid resistors bought on ebay.
