This makes as much sense as buying one of those fans and putting it in your intake tube!!!! 20+ HP, for $19.95!!!

Are you talking about the turbonator. I was thinking about getting one to put inside my S&B intake tube.

Anybody that does these resistor mods trying to make horses that won't exist for the IAT, I don't even want to be in the same state if they try to play with nitrous down the road. Not that the IAT will do anything with nitrous but I just don't wanna be around when they think "just a lil more juice will really make it go" mentality. Will surely be an exhibition of convincing the slugs to change holes.

Hell just get a potentiometer and you could adjust it yourself. Although i wouldnt reccomend this mod at all. Im not sure but i would guess that its not the best way to get the same results.

This mod can work, but not on a Titan. This was a quick, cheap mod that was used on DSM's (Eagle Talon's, Mitsu Eclipse's) as opposed to buying an expensive AFC (Air Fuel Computer). The mod only works if you really do introduce more air into the engine than the MAF has counted. That way the extra gas that's injected, due to the IAT resistor, will keep the engine in the proper stoichiometric range.

I had this mod for a while on my Talon. It's a turbo motor and is very easy to add more intake air. But the ECU would cut the fuel off after what it deamed was too much intake air passing through the MAF. Thankfully, it was also very easy to modify the MAF to allow more air to bypass the MAF sensor, thus eliminating the dreaded fuel cut, but also creating a lean mixture. To correct this lean mixture, an IAT resistor could be added to allow more fuel to be added and this would then richen the mixture. But it is still a guessing game, so I used a very sensitive Air/Fuel Ratio gauge to measure the exhaust gases and tune for the desired stoichiometric ratio.

But adding a IAT resistor (or these so called "chips") to an engine, without also adding more air, will do nothing but make your truck run worse...it will run too rich, which will actually waste fuel.

I wouldn't try this. If you guys are serious about making the truck fast, then do it the legit way. Build the motor and get a good EMS. Or get a good fuel system, turbo and EMS.

Not to mention, if you were to try to install this resistor, you would have to splice it into the harness coming from the MAF sensor...not a real easy thing to do like they promise on those ebay auctions. Maybe on SOME vehicles it is plug and play, but not a Titan!

Sorry that we tried to actually help someone by educating them as to what an IAT resistor mod is and why it's useless on a Titan.

He should find one of the wires coming out of his a$$, and the other in his wallet. Connect those two. Guaranteed to make 40 hp.

I've just join and this makes me sad, that a guy would be flamed and cursed for wanting an answer to an asked question. I would expect it from a user with less than 50 posts but not from a user with over 850. You all have voice your (educated and not) OPINIONS and NO ONE has answered the question. We live and learn, and if he wants to do this after reading this its his choice. MAYBE he will discover something about the ECM, IAT, MAF (backdoor, flaw, bug, etc..) Like there has never been an exploitable bug in software or an electronic device, YEA and my name is Bill Gates. I'm done now you can flame me or just answer the mans question.

I have taken it off left the ecu to reset for 12 hours and tested and repeated the same only reinstalling it....Maybe its just my overactive imagination but I can feel a slight difference in power.......Who nows maybe Im crazy but for 5 bucks im not gonna knock it.....As far as gas mileage I dont know I have a lead foot.

Hey if someone wants to try this I say let them. We can sit all day and give our BS on why it should or should not work. Alot of great things have been accomplished by going against the flow and trying something on your own.

No one got flamed for wanting an answer to a question. It was for coming on this forum that has such a wealth of knowledge and helpful people and basically telling everyone to shut the hell up or answer the question.

As is he is owed something. And to have that as your third post! Not exactly the best way to get people to help you. If everyone had that attitude, this forum would lose a lot of helpful people.
