Power Seat Fix!!!

i have an excellent fix for those of you with the annoying power seat. now this will only be helpful if you are the only one who drives your truck (or at least most of the time) or if you dont have the exit/entry feature (or you dont care if it works)

1. get in your truck and adjust your seat to the position desired
2. carefully get out of the vehicle without touching the switches or letting the cusion push the switches
3. look under seat, there are 2 plugs that are attached to the bottom of the seat, a smaller one and a bigger one.. (there is a 3rd humungous plug, dont touch that one) the plugs run front to back and are in center front to back and on left and right of center... unplug those plugs (may be a little tricky if youre not used to these plugs) volia.. problem fixed

... oh you could wire a swith also but i was too lazy... lol

Re: Power Seat Fix!!!

i only have the power driver seat and it doesnt affect the passenger srs system.. i dunno what the big plug is for but i suspect it could be the main wiring harness for the seat wich probably contains the seat belt sensor wires and power seat wires and who knows what else

Re: Power Seat Fix!!!

What a smart boy you are. I just learned not to lean on the side of the seat.

Re: Power Seat Fix!!!

I thought about adding a switch to the side of the seat near the controls. A push button that only allows power to the seat while you hold the button. So you would have to press this new button while adjusting the seat. I didn't have much luck in finding a suitable switch.

Re: Power Seat Fix!!!

an on/off toggle on the dash would also work nicely...
