Nissan Titan, headlamps upgrade

I saw something regarding a melting harness when lamps were upgraded? Can anyone elaborate - I have just purchased a set of lamps (Xenon 85/100w) - will this be an issue??

Re: Nissan Titan, headlamps upgrade

yes, the stock wiring is not sized right to carry that load so it will overheat and possibly melt the covering. Not good. the only fix is a heavier 14 guage wiring harness that is triggered by the original wiring.
