trailor hook up

I am tring to install a trailor wiring kit on my truck. I found my 7-pin trailor conn. under my bumper and I wanted to know if I needed to get my truck reprogramed or install new relays in order to use a trailor through this conn. I have operational tail lights through this conn. but no other lights are operational. Thanks for any help recieved.

Welcome to TitanTalk! I'm going to make an assumption here, so forgive me if I'm wrong? You don't have the Big Tow package on your truck? (if you don't have a trans temp gauge, you don't have big tow) If that's true, aside from a hitch, there are a couple of relays you're going to have to get to finish out the electrical side of the install.

No I don't have the "big tow" package. This is a base model 2WD w/no options. I am a mechanic so I assumed if I buy a base model and install all the options myself I might save myself a few g's. I'm starting to think I was wrong. I will get those relay's and try again. Thank you for your help.

I think you might save yourself some on some of the "options", but probably not on this one. I think the 400 or so bucks that the Big Tow costs you is a bargain for what you get.
