welcome to the site..

possibly a problem with not closing your door all the way or the latch is screwed up.

There's a button to the left of the steering wheel next to the dimmer switch. Probably turn on by accident.

Yeah you're right, maybe a bad switch or even a short somewhere.

I don't know if you have a KC or a CC but the switch setup for the doors is way different between the two. If you have a crew cab you would have 1 switch with a black rubber cover close to the striker of each door. If you have a king cab you would have 3 switches per side. 1 on each side below the striker and two microswitches on each rear door built into the upper and lower latches of each door. Also if just one of the rear door latches is not fully latched your light will stay on. One other thing, the body harness that runs down each side, runs by a 6mm scew in the back corner of the cab that the harness somtimes gets pinched under, but being a 04 you should have seen that one by now.

Re: cargo light stays on

I am having the same problem now on my 04. I removed the switch under the striker on both doors and made a jumper to try to close the circuit, but it didnt work. Any ideas?

Re: cargo light stays on

I just hate it that when you get out of the truck the stupid lite comes on, makes being stealthy mighty difficult. And yes I have tried the cargo switch in every configuration, someone told me its a safety thing so you can see in the bed at nite in case the boogyman is hiding. Bah-humbug

My truck has Banks, and a couple of 12's under the seats, but even without those, I don't think the titan is a good choice for stealth ops.

Re: cargo light stays on

By stealthy I just meant when you get home late at nite it would be nice if the bed lite didn't have to lite up the neighborhood. Love your avatar, you truly have a sick mind LOL

Re: cargo light stays on

I have a similar problem. When i start my truck with the door open the cargo light and dash light flash on and off while driving but when i start my truck with the door closed no problems. The only way thati can fix it is by pulling over turning truck off open door then close and restart.

Re: cargo light stays on

I had the same problem, there is a recall on the crew cab rear door wiring harness; The wires are making contact with each other where the harness folds when you close the door. Nissan is replacing those for free. My alarm was going off at night and the open door light would randomly turn on. I checked cut the plastic sleeve on the wiring harness and the wires were peeled and touching each other. Hope this helps.
