Tailgate lights w/ LEDs tail lights

For those who have swap out the factory tail lights to LEDs or other and have a big hole where the tailgate lights use to be, here's what I did.
Sorry in advance for crappy cell phone pictures.
EDIT: Got some better pictures.

Stop by the local Advance Auto Parts and found these.

Good thing is the factory plug fit into the housing so no need to cut the factory wire. One thing is the factory bulbs is too big so I swap it out with the bulbs from the kit I bought.

This is the end result, it's not as bright as factory because of the smaller bulbs but my goal was to cover up the holes and was not really looking for brightness.
EDIT: Now that it's a little darker outside, light ouputs is not that bad.

awesome awesome... u think u can find those online cuz Ive never seen those in an auto parts store round here...

Also, does it interfere at all with the tailgate?

I dunno why volant didnt just integrate something for us already...

oh and u could always replace the "smaller bulbs" for LEDs as well...lol...more light no?

They were $4 each. I found them in the trailer lighting section. I'll look for some LED bulbs to see if it's brighter but it's not a high priority.

That's a super idea bbf! Nice job! I have wanted the LED's too, but don't want the open hole either. I may have to look for these.

hey baseball so u got a part number or a site I could get online... I checked the stores around here and they didnt have anything that would work...

so you have to take out your stock tailgate lights to install these or somthing?

My stock tail light has built in cargo lights. Since I changed it out to some LEDs tail lights it left a hole where the cargo light use to be. I did this to cover those holes

I don't think this would work with your LED tails but the newer ones I think can accept the stock bed light, but only 1 screw..

Yes the other style LEDs tail light will accept the OEM cargo light.
