I did it in my '06. It was pretty easy but a little nerve wracking because I was taking apart the interior of my new truck!!

Once you pry out the dummy plates the lights slip right in. Tighten the nuts, plug in the connectors and that part is done.
Removing three screws and a little tugging is all that is necessary to get the steering cover off. Pry the clip back to get the old switch out. Put the new one in and cuss a little to get the column cover back into place so the cover lines up properly.
The directions that came with my kit were pretty good.
