Austin's E-lock mod. HELP!

I wired it as said in the write Austin did, however it's not working. Nothing happens. The lighted switch lights up so i know it's got power but thats it. So i switched the wires going into the switch, thinking i reversed the ground and hot wire, but when i reconnected the battery the gauges started going crazy and i heard clicking noises all over. so i don't know whats up. Can anyone help me troubleshoot my problem? Thanks
