Re: S&b Cai Install

Did you premark the MAF sensor so you didn't reinstall it backwards? That would cause it to die, but a hissing noise sure sounds like a leak somewhere. Those two small O rings they give you don't say where they go. I sandwiched them inbetween the bottom of the sensor and the top of the plate on the two smaller screws to fill that gap between the sensor edge bracket and the plate. It's hard to see in these pictures, upper left corner on the second picture.

Heck I don't remember, the plate holes only fit one way if I remember correctly, and the sensor fits in the recessed part of the plate.

Re: S&b Cai Install

The S&B knocked off .3 seconds in the 1/4 mile on my 05 FFV 4x2. I never expected that kind of gain.

If you are FFV, there is a sticker on the inside of the fuel door.

i know mine didnt do this when i first installed it. yours may need to be broken in a little though.

and not sure of yours, but my S&B also gave me a boost in the gas mileage too!

There is an ECU learning process, but I noticed an immediate performance improvement. Throttle response from 0 is much better as it is at 50-70 passing. Something doesn't sound right with yours. The install is fairly simple, and all I can think of is something went wrong with your MAF sensor through rough handling or contamination of some sort.

Mine ran like a scalded dog from the moment I put it on. Maybe you need to go over everything one more time to make sure you got it right. It only took me about 30 minutes to put mine on.
