Re: Radiator Removal Lots of pics and step by step

Talked to the guys at stillen and they informed me that they are getting a shipment of radiators in on the 12th of December. Pretty much means that anyone who has a radiator on order will be getting it by the next week.

Re: Radiator Removal Lots of pics and step by step

Thanks Boggs for the write up!
I went to Stillen this morning and picked up my new radiator. They just received a new shipment. I ordered on Jan. 19th and received an e-mail yesterday saying that my radiator was waiting for me to pick up. BTW, it comes with a new radiator cap.

Re: Radiator Removal Lots of pics and step by step

I installed The Stillen radiator today. I decided to remove the fan to make the install easier and at the same time I replaced the old fan belt with a new belt. I have 71k on the original belt. I am keeping the old belt as a spare.
It took 2 1/2 gallons to refill.

Re: Radiator Removal Lots of pics and step by step

Thank you for the write up, Boggs.

I have one question: Is the stillen a direct bolt on, or is there something else I will have to do to get it to work?

Yes, it is a direct bolt on. The only mod you need is new clamps for the tranny fluid hoses.

Would this work for just a direct replacement?

Re: Radiator Removal Lots of pics and step by step

Yeah it looks like it would. I shopped that same site as the link directs you too. I know you can get a radiator for $111 on ebay with Lifetime warranty...LOL

There is nothing to it. I am finally doing mine tonight. In less than an hour I have it all ready to pull the Radiator and I changed out the T-Stat. All I need to do is disco the trany lines and pull the radiator. The only reason I stoped was because it got dark.

Let me know if your need a hand.

Re: Radiator Removal Lots of pics and step by step

I bought a 170 degree T-Stat at Advance $15. Doesn't require a gasket, It has a rubber O-ring that goes around the T-stat. Might be dealer item, my seal looked and felt fine.

I ordered mine from that same place. I ordered on a Monday and it was Friday.
