HT: Make your DDM 880 Fog Light HID kit Truely PnP

Introduction:

So, I got my HID kits from DDM. But, The fog light kit didn't really come with a connector to connect it to the factory fog light plug. but, instead it just came with pins that would plug into the connector. Well, I didn't really like this. It's not water tight. You could wrap it with tape, but, that's pretty crappy too. So, I fixed it.

***** Difficulty is a 2/5, requires soldering************

Tools Required:

Soldering Iron
Wire stripper
Wire Cutter
Heat gun or lighter
hot glue gun
Multi Meter

Material required:

Hot Glue
Solder
Heat Shrink
old halogen fog light bulb

1: First of all. Here is the lousy spade connector with no housing that came on the kit. Cut this off and strip the wire.

2: take the old halogen bulb and cut the actual bulb off the connector.

3: Put a piece of heat shrink on the wire for later and then solder the wire to the left over metal on the connector. In this picture you can see which side the red wire goes on. I USED A MULTIMETER TO CHECK THE POLARITY ON MY TRUCK. PLEASE CHECK IT ON YOUR TRUCK AS IT MAY BE DIFFERENT.

4: Slide the piece of heat shrink over the soldered pin and shrink it. I used a heat gun but a lighter will work fine.

5: Use a hot glue gun to fill the cavity in the connector with hot glue to make sure everything is nice and water tight.

Re: HT: Make your DDM 880 Fog Light HID kit Truely PnP

I want to bring this thread back to life... I need help ! I ordered the 880 raptor kit off of DDM Tuning and before taking SethMan408's advice on PnP, I wanted to see if anything plugged in. And to my surprise, NOTHING DOES !
Any advice would be much appreciated.

Re: HT: Make your DDM 880 Fog Light HID kit Truely PnP

Before I got started on the soldering, I wanted to make sure that the kit would plug in to the factory factory bulb housing (with the bulb cut off). Nothing fits in this factory housing from the DDM 880 kit
