Front receiver hitch

Greetings:

Has anyone with the off-road package tried to install a front receiver hitch ?

(need to carry a fishing rod rack/cooler, etc. up front)

To the best of my knowledge the off-road package includes front tow hooks (like 4 wheel drive, get me out of the mud hooks) and extra rock plates under the engine/tranny. The front bumper and bumper covers are the exact same. So I dont think there is a really good place to install a front receiver! However, just as I say this I am sure someone will post a pic of their's all ready install!

If a front receiver hitch is not possible due to off-road rock plates, then I would possibly look at where the tow hooks are connected to the frame and consider mounting a channel using the same tow hook access to which I would connect the fishing rod/cooler rack.

Has anyone inspected how the tow hooks are connected ?

Tow hooks are attached by two bolts each. It might be hard to run that channel because the tow hook mounting areas are not flat (each of the two bolts are at a different elevation). The rear bolt is maybe 3/4 of an inch higher and obviously the hook is angled and redirected to meet the rear hole as well. It might take alot of fab'ing to get a channel to meet both tow hook bolts on either side but that would be the sturdy way to go, I agree
