4wd's height. Can/should I lower to normal height?

I think the with 4wd, my car sits about 1 1/2 in higher than normal. Does anybody know what they did to raise the car and can I undo what they did? Is it safe? I think they raise the height of the 4wd cars assuming people buy them for offroading. I probably will not do any of that except ocasionally drive in the snow during skiing trips. The car is too high to lift heavy things onto the bed, especially for my wife.

Thx

You can change the ride height, but 9/10 times you will also void the warranty on the power train and steering components. If you don't care about that, go ahead. Most of the time the difference between the 2 is the different drive train. You are required to have a different transmission that has a driveshaft forward and back. This requires the different body height for the same ground clearance.

Thanks for the info. I'll pass, I thought it's just something simple to remove.
