Mine ABLS kicks in and works nicely every day when I have to merge uphill in a right hand turn from a low speed gravel road to a high speed asphalt road. It brakes the down hill wheel (right-rear) that is spinning on gravel and the uphill wheel (left-rear) latches onto the asphalt.

Last I read you were wenching winches in the mud wishing you had LSD...? With tire chains too!

Are you in 'regular' mode? What happens if you start from a dead stop on a slippery hill - where slippage happens from the get go?

Yes, with VDC on. You wait until all the snow melts for the slippery hill questions? I really never noticed as I always had it in 4WD on the slippery hills.
