Paint problems?

Has anybody noticed any swirls in their paint? Mine is black, and I was able to wash it for the first time today. When I dried it off I can see distinctive swirl marks on my rear fender and passenger door like someone held a buffer on too long. The weird thing is is that it looks like it is under clearcoat? Is that possible?

Thanks, this forum is great

mine is at the dealer today getting a rear door re-painted. They had burned off the orange peal with a buffer trying to get a swirl out. It is also black.

So after they do the work will it be up to par with the rest of the truck? I am dreading this.

(I don't want to be without my truck now either)

This will be the second week in 4 that I will be without my truck. They had it a week waiting for a Nissan rep to approve it.

Sorry to hear about the problems both of you are having. Man 2 weeks out of 4 I would be blowing my top big time. Why do they have it? I think there is some sort of legal recourse you could do I am not sure if it is some sort of law but I think after a certain period of time if the dealer cannot perform their responsibilities in a resonable amount of time per the service warranty the consumer is entitled to perform the work outside of the dealership with reimbursement to the consumer on work done by someone on the outside who is certified. I wish I could quote the legalities. Does anyone know anything about that? --Take Care!!

Is this something that happens at the factory or at the dealership? And now that I think about it, there are traces of dried wax on my door handles. Will it be ok after they repair it?

The first week it sat there waiting for a Nissan rep to come and approve a repaint of the door. I went and got it for the weekend and took it back this morning so they can do the paint. Also the sunroof leaked, the plate holder they gave me does not fit over the front skid plate, and several rattles in the dash. I guess I was not expecting this for the money I paid. I bought the LE with every option I could get.

Took it to the dealer today and they had their detail guy look at it. He said that he was sure that he could fix it. He said even if he had to do some wet sanding (?) the Titans come with a ton of clearcoat on them so everything will still be normal. He promised my satisfaction, and I am pretty picky, so we will see.

I have also noticed this on my rear fender. I've also noticed some paint sags here and there. I have the smoke color.

It must be hard to find good help - even in Mississippi?

Check the build dates - those built on Fridays tend to have less consistent quality...

(mine is perfect, so far)
