Titan is a copy of GMC concept? Gimme a break

We had a heated debate at work today about how closely the Titan resembles the GMC Terradyne concept.

Sure, there are hints here and there, but I just don't see that much influence.

What do you guys think? Did Nissan copy GMC or not?

Well, this one is easy. If Titan has been in production for seven months and that GM is still only a concept, then I think it is fairly safe to say that if any copying was going on it would be GM copying the Titan.

The concept for the titan was the alpha-t which made its debut at the North american international auto show in 2001. You guys can judge for yourself but im going with SoldOnNissan on the fact that they have 4 wheels as anything that looks alike. I can see the bold styling coming more from nissans concept then gmc's.

Don't forget to add that they both have a steering wheel and seats for people to sit in.

Next you are going to hear that they copied the engine design because they both are using spark plugs and pistons.

Reasons they may think this:

1. Your co-workers must be on something!
2. Maybe they are spies sent out by GM to discredit Nissan!
3.
4. They sucked in too many exhaust fumes

First of all let me clear things up a bit:

The GMC Terradyne concept was intruduced at the North American International Auto Show in the year 2000.
So I'm including this link for Tikigod to make sure there's no misunderstanding of who was first!

http://www.pickuptruck.com/html/naias/terradyne.html

Obviously, the guys I know have been diehard GMC and Chevy fans all their lives and a little biased. Until they actually rode in my Titan, they wouldn't believe the power and sophistication.

I guess the question was for the few of us who actually researched the Titan from the inception of alpha-T to the final form and production model before buying one(who also follow the NAIAS).

Sorry I wasn't quite clear in the first post.

Looks more like the new f150 to me with the squared off front end and the other angles of the front.

That's frikin' Fugly. Why does GM think squared off wheel wells look good? Ugggh, they never learn. I think they need to hire some new designers...again. And I don't know what Nissan was thinking with the pics above. Obvously they chose against most of those design elements with the Titan. Thank God!!

Isn't the GMC Terradyne concept being adopted by the folks at Honda? I thought GM and Honda were working together on this concept for the 05' Honda SUT. I could be wrong though!
