XM Radio Problem Solved

One of the main reasons I wanted the Nissan was the XM radio system. Ironic, huh. Well, I decided against the high cost and poor functionality of the Nissan system. Just imagine what they could have done with that 7 inch nav screen....sigh...

Went out today and bought the xm commander. http://www.xmradio.com/commander/

$134 at Circuit City, internet price, but they'll give the same to you in the store. They will install it all, including the antenna for 80. So I'll go back when I figure out where I want it and get it hooked up.

This is a very small unit, but still has a big wheel which I believe is necessary to get through all those channels. Sadly, it doesn't allow you to delete all the channels you don't like, but then neither does warner cable (bastards). So I'll just have to get over it, or starting listing to country...not. I wanted the features of the big SkyFi unit, but it was too big to fit atttractively anywhere. The small xm roady would have been ok, but no quick way to fly through the channels.

I plan to wire it through the AUX port (and tell me Nissan, why isn't this in the bin where most people are likely to put their MP3 players anyway?) Maybe when they get their radios worked out I'll wire it to the AUX port behind the scene.

Should be noted that the 134 cost includes all wires, and the antenna. No adapters or any other add ons, except the subscription of course. Really pissed at nissan for the whole XM bs and of course the radio sounding like crap, and the CD not playing MP3's. This is what, a 1,200 dollar add on radio? What nerver of these people...anyway, there is my rant. I'll try to post some pictures if anyone is interested. May take a day or two though.

Where did you mount the receiver and head unit?

What advantages does it have over the Nissan XM Radio?
