Going to do a total car clean tomorrow

...but i have a few questions:

1) I'm using that Meguiar's Clearner Wax. How much is too much wax? How much is a "thin, even coat"?

2) I have a few tiny scratches. Should i i wax those areas?

3) Are those soft leather car cloths the best method for getting rid of water marks?

4) Should i soap wash it more than once?

5) How do i remove small scuffs on interior of the side doors?

Might try dealership! I have appt. for next week to get the interior scotchguard and paint sealant.. The do a entire interior and exterior detail..They buff and wax the outside and remove any tar. The paint sealant is teflon based. The entire price is 150.00 and will take about 5hours they said...

Don,t wast your time and money on the paint sealant. All you need is a good wax like Meguiar's new tech wax.The dealer used the paint sealent on my Titan made the paint look dull and when I run my hand over it it actually felt sticky.Needless to say I didn't pay for it.I used the Meguiar's tech wax and wow what a differance,so deep and smooth.I also used a dull action buffer that i got from Sears made waxing fun and did a wonderful job.

Use the new Meguiar's tech wax it does a great job and will take those tiny scratches right out.As far as water marks get yourself a california water blade from Walmart and go over you truck with that first the take a micro towel, also sold at Walmart, and get the rest of the water off.You won't belive how good these towels work.
Try this clean your windows with what ever you clean them with. When you think you got them squeaky clean take a dry micro towel and rub the window.
If your windows are really clean the towel will slide right off.Try it the towel will grabe onto the window like it had glue in it.Not to worry just keep wiping till the towel slides smoothly on the window. Now that clean. When you done have one of these

To remove that scuff try a product called 303 protectant. It should remove it and leave your interior looking like new.

Ya your probably right. When they did mine you could tell the places they didn't do like inside the doors ect. The Inside of the doors were nice and shiny not like the outside.Anyway i did some research on buying a new car and they said they same thing That i said,it's a wast of money.I know if i had to pay for what they did to my Titan it sure would have been.Hope you have better luck with yours

Use the new Meguiar's tech wax for the Exterior but dont use their leather cleaner. It made my leather look shiny and cheap, then again Nissan didn't put real leather in the Titan?

As far as washing goes, a guy at my dealership who now owns a black Titan swears by the Mr. Clean car washing system. That will deal with the water spots. I haven't had the chance to go buy it myself but he said it was amazing.

What about washing the interior windshield?

What about outdoor glass treatment (RainX? Windex? )

What does a "micro towel" look like?

For the inside of the windshield Windes makes wipes that are perfect for this. They have the right amount of juice and you dont have to worry about overspray on your dash.

And I use Rain-X on the outside.

Dont know what a microtowel is...

Mequiars website has several useful articles on proper application that may be of some help.

microfiber towels are great. i bought a 12 pack at costco for 8 bucks...but they kinda small-good for detailing and going over glass. i got the bigger microfiber towel at walmart for about 6 bucks. i also got that mr. clean washer, and i think it works really well-i have a black CC and it makes a difference with eliminating the water marks. as for wax, i went to a detailing site and it recommended pinnacle souveran wax for dark colors. i'm not sure what to get, between zaino, or pinnacle, since i've never used either. Actually i bought a bottle of Z-best car wax at a hot-rod show, and was thinking of trying that out *shrugs*.

I bought the Mr. Clean system and I couldn't believe it actually worked on a Galaxy Black truck, especially in Arizona where the water dries BEFORE it hits the truck!

Careful with the microfiber towels, they do scratch if you do not keep them especially clean (swirl marks on a black BMW). They attract water, but they also attract dust and dirt, which causes micro-scratches. Go grab a clean towel out of the linen closet (when your wife is out, of course), it works much better. I only use the micros for buffing after waxing

McGuires High Tech 26 Yellow wax works great on the Black truck. I striped all of the emblems off of Dark Star and after waxing it, you couldn't even tell they were ever there.

Got Titan...

Did you strip off the dealer's finish (using Dawn or something similar) before applying the Zaino?

Mine looks good from the dealer - but it's not ZAINOed yet!
