Towing Question

I'm towing about a 3000# boat.I would never tow in overdrive w/ my old '93 Chevy.JUst wandering if the tow mode is sufficent or would it be best to tow in 4th.I have a KC 4x4 w/ no tow package but added a receiver hitch.I take some pretty steep hills at times and get alot of down shifts.Just wanted some opinions.

For flater areas you can let it stay 'normal'. But if your in a hilly area pretty consistently push the Tow Mode on..in the long run, it will be better for your trucks drivetrain.
