Rumors going around saying they are going to bump it up because they will be adding variable valve timing or something along those lines...

I also believe that next year Nissan is bumping up the horsepower. Not 100% sure. Maybe someone else knows more about it than I do.

i really doubt nissan would bump up the hp in only the 2nd year of production, maybe in a few years when the new tundra is out and the 6.0L is dropped in the 1500 silverado and ford releases that "hurricane" motor for the f-150, wow, many things are coming. nissan will step up.

I hope our motor will receive some hp too. I am ready to trade in for '05, looking to upgrade to 4x4, getting stuck in Glamis is so much NOT fun!

I really like Toyota's innovative ideas, the generator in the bumper, the ramps, etc. That built-in air compressor would be so nice for airing back up after a day in the desert! Really nice ideas! Maybe Nissan will improve these and use them as upgradable options too.

Tundra is also well worth the wait. Unfortunately, now Toyota is talking about mid-2006 introduction which is a reaction to world economy(ie. Gas prices)!
The biggest problem they're facing is: How to extract the most HP from a true hybrid engine(gas milage braggin rights), stay competitive(price-wise), and pay for all this extensive R&D.
To me, however, it doesn't matter when the Tundra comes out. I'll buy one of the first ones off the assembly line like I did my Titan.
What a site to behold in the garage: Titan and Tundra (best of the best)

Yeah. Pics and stats of a concept vehicle and everyone flips. It isn't due out till '07 and we have no idea what it will look like. I expect it will have some styiling features but not be as wild as the concept. Think Ford Tonka concept to '05 F350.

I personally think we're pushing over 325HP anyhow...regardless of what the HP claim is so.....even with no HP increase (although VVT is said to be coming with more HP), Titan can certainly hold up.

Its hard enough getting a highway hummer with a center console, never mind one that arches. No thanks.

Considering the fact that I started this thread 8 months before you became a member here and purchased your Armada, that was the best information available(and I have yet to see anyone post any more details). {Also if you read my response last year which explained Toyota delaying intro till 07}.

Just to update you a little bit, the 05 Super Duty F-Series only share a faint resemblance to the mighty Tonka concept(namely just the grille). The F250/350 is the same old one with a new grille and just minor interior changes. The true redesign will be introduced in 2007 as a 2008 model which will resemble the Tonka even more.

You are correct, however, in saying that the finished product will not be as radical as the concept. That is economically not feasible for Toyota and may not appeal to the traditional truck buyer. Expect to see strong hints of the FTX with real world wheels, tires, and pricing.
