HELP! Local dealers are trying to sell me a $50,000 Titan!
Here is a price quote from a local dealer. Just about every charge is a bogus charge? Even the invoice price doesn't match up to the one in Kelly blue book. The truck I looked at was a CC 4x4 LE with moonroof, dvd, curtain airbags, navigation, tow package and off road package. Kelly blue book lists this at $37,246...the dealer claims it is $39,108...which is correct? Also, this other charges for sewage, electricity, washing, cleaning, real estate and so forth, this is bogus isn't it??? Shouldn't it be a good deal if I offered 37,246+650 for shipping+tax & licends+ 500 for dealer profit on top of the 1054.00 they claim for dealer holdback? Wouldn't that be more then fair?

Either go to another dealer or play with them.
Go to Edmunds and get the dealer's true invoice price, go back to the dealer and ask for that.
If they won't go for that, offer them a hundred over invoice. Wait while the salesman scurries off to the sales manager with your offer. When he comes back and tells you his sad tale of woe offer him another hundred if you want to watch him do the same little dance again. You should not offer more than $500 over and only if your heart is set on having that truck now. If they won't take your offer, walk. There are other dealers who will jump at the chance to sell you a Titan and they still manage to make a profit. I haven't heard of a dealer yet selling a Titan for a loss.
These guys are as bad as the first dealer I went to in December who tried to tell me I needed to pay $3000 over MSRP because this was a "new" model and in demand. The truck I would have bought in December from them is still listed in their inventory.
Good luck Kev!

Never argue with idiots. They'll drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.

Better look somewhere else and let this bunch make their profit on the next guy. If your in the midwest PM me and I can send you a few dealers names that made invoice or near invoice offers to me.

Is this for real or some joke? Pleeeease, do not for one moment think about buying anything from this dealer. Get pricing for the truck you want at edmunds (www.edmunds.com) or kelly's blue book (www.kbb.com)--they will display both invoice (presumably what the dealer pays for the truck--which of course really isn't what the dealer pays), and MSRP. If you don't have internet access go to the local library for access or for copy of the latest edmund's or kelly's book.
Do not overpay for this truck. If you are anywhere near a city you should be able to buy the Titan at or around invoice. Work the dealers against eachother. Get a couple of dealers to give you bids on the truck and options you want. At an invoice sale, with holdback and incentives, the dealer will still make at least $1,000 on the deal--not bad at all for him. With persistence and patience, you should be able to wring a deal to say $350 below invoice. Of course, this does not apply everywhere--but it does mean that with good information and persistence, you can get the best deal possible. Good luck.

I responded to your post in the 'low titan sales numbers' thread 2 days back:
I have no vested interest in what you buy where, but check with Ray Ishak @Campbell Nelson in Lynnwood. If they had a 2wd anywhere in the area I'd've bought there from this guy. I ended up buying in Phoenix 'cause I couldn't get a 2wd one here. Good guy - he loves Nissans and offered me a good deal. If you're ready to go get some invoice quotes from Edmunds and call around unless you want to play these games
I say walk away. That dealer is definetly trying to charge you for "extra" stuff. You can find a better price elsewhere. Like others have said, try kbb.com and edmunds.com
Okay, I figured it was all BS. When I was there I asked if they were flexable on this price quote...they asked what I had in mind...I told them I would go $500 over the invoice I had from kelly blue book...they literally laughed...so I walked out. They didn't even try to pull me back in. I live withen 30 minutes of Seattle, so I guess I will use Edmunds to get dealer quotes. Thanks a lot for everyones input!
My fully loaded LE was stickered at 41,880 and there was no other optoin I could add except maybe some more things in the bed. I don't see what the options on that truck are, but there is no Titan around that lists for more than $42K.
Maybe they added a bunch of aftermarket items and are expecting you to accept them at face value.

Here is a copy of a spreadsheet that I made up a few months ago as my own Nissan pricing guide. I pulled the MSRP from Nissan's website and it includes a $650 destination fee (which is legitimate) and I pulled the invoice prices from Edmunds.com. The invoice does not include the $650 destination charge. As you can see, the dealership that is trying to sell that truck is clearly trying to rip people off rather than offering a fair starting price. Look elsewhere.
