4X2 KC SE Mileage

4X2 King Cab SE 388 miles, no big tow, 2.93 rear.

Did my first mileage check today, 299 miles and 22.33 gallons of gas to fill up brought my mileage to 13.43? I havent driven hard at all and it is a mix of city/highway driving. I havent seen any other mileage figures on the 2 wheel drive trucks and I expected mine to be better than it got. Anyone else having better luck with theirs?

Yea, i have the same exact truck. I'm getting around 14 MPG and i drive really conservatively. I occationally go up to 2300 RPMs who i'm pulling into traffic. I have 1500 miles on mine and have not changed the oil yet. I figure, as the most simple style (no CC, no 4x4, no big tow) of this model we would be hitting the 17-19 numbers easily.

I'm getting anywhere from 14.5 to 16 on city/highway driving. I've got the Banks exhaust which seems to give a little better mpg (maybe .5 to 1 mpg).
Just went over 7000 miles on mine.

Yes, it will get better...

I did my first oil change around 1k miles and the next at 3k miles....

Noticed my first inchward up after 2500 miles on the truck...

Noticed the second between 4500 and 5k miles...

Another nudge around 7500k miles and now with the K&N drop in, the last 2 tanks have shown an improvement...hovering at 17.5MPG now on the last tank...

Current mileage 10,600.

Chris

Filled mine up for the first time and registered exactly 10 mpg city driving in what I would classify as taking it very easy. Normally my mpg on the last 10 cars I have owned seem to always be 2-3 miles below what the sticker says.

I have a CC 4x2 w/big tow and have averaged 15.8 for the first 2774 miles. Maybe 50/50 hiway/city driving. Have averaged 16.4 for the last 1332 miles (5 fill ups). It's a little hilly where I live so I think the lower ratio may be an advantage because there is less downshifting. Octane rating for reg. fuel in this area is 86. Average cost per mile (fuel only) 9.9 cents. And to think I complained about 65 cents a gallon.
