Anyone noticed front bumper uneven?

I just noticed that there is a different amount of space between the top of the bumper and the grille (under the headlights) on the driver side versus the passenger side. I measured the difference and the bumper is approx. 1/2" lower on the driver side. I looked under truck and the bumper appears to be attached to the frame in two different places. All the holes have to be dilled by machines because they are in the frame. Anyone have any clues or have this problem? I have to go to the dealer this weekend to have a few other things fixed so I have them look at it.

It just looks that way because you only got one shoe.

Okay, I am picking up on the joke this time. It is a little more obvious than accusing me of working for Nissan. But, seriously since you have an opinion on everything do you have any ideas on why the front bumper would be uneven?

I've never seen what you're describing on any Titan. Have the dealer check it out.

Yes, you like my Happy Gilmore reference?

Hmmm, not everything on a vehicle is going to within 0.0001" of spec. But if it's .5" like you said, that is a little bit of a concern. Maybe a flat washer got left off, or the bumper mounts got bent. I really couldn't tell you without crawling under your truck. Do let us know what you find out though from the dealer.

I have noticed the same thing but I dont think is that much of a difference. I can fit the tip of my finger into the passenger side but can to to almost the end of my fingernail on the driver. Ive actually seen the same thing on 2 other nissan's that ive had, but they were on the rear bumper(a '96 200sx and a 2002 sentra se-r). Tried to have Nissan fix those but it didnt make a difference, all they did was change the clips, and it still laid a little lower on the drivers side than the passenger.

That was also my first form of measurement. I am also afraid that dealer will not really do anything to fix the poblem. They haven't been great with the other stuff. I picked my truck up over a month ago with the driver side mirror scratched really bad (the actual glass) and they just got the replacement in.

Ahhh - you're in luck - one other person has posted about this and said the dealership was able to adjust it for him. Afetr reading his post, I checked mine and found that it too was uneven. Today I asked the dealership to adjust mine. The first mechnaic said it was non-adjustable and I replied that others had theirs adjusted - then two body shop guys took over and said it was also non-adjustable, but then a few minutes later had it fixed. They said it was a two-person job and one had to loosen up all the bumper bolts, while the other lifted it into position while the first then retightened everything. Looks good now.

Im sure it you brought it up they would look at it, but that would possibly be they extent of it. Seeing that it took so long to get your replacement mirror and all, I might try to find another dealer to go to if theres another close by.

That's good to hear. I will fix it myself if they won't do it for me. Took some pictures. Angle is off, but look at the front-bottom of the headlight and you should be able to see the difference.

I was the 1st to post on this (I think). I was sitting in the garage right after washing the truck the 1st time and noticed how the front end looked alittle off. I went up to the area described above and could fit my four fingers in the gap all the way up to my palm knuckles. The other side I could only fit my four fingers up to the 1st set of finger knuckles. Dealership adjusted it to fit almost perfect. I looked under there myself but it looked like a 2 person job and the GF was not home. Had the dealership do it when they put in the fogs.

Yes, there are normally bolts you loosen on the frame and then you can adjust it. The only reason I know this is from installing the Ivan Stewart kit (including the front bumper) on my Tundra. So I assume that most are adjustable like that. It helps to have two people, but one could do it if they really wanted to.
