Meeting with Nissan Technical Team

For updates on this topic, click here

I have been invited to a meeting with a representative from the Nissan Titan Technical Team on Thursday morning at 11:00 at my local dealership. This meeting is intended to allow the Nissan team to understand the good and bad of the Titan from the owners perspective.

I am putting together a comprehensive list of things to discuss with them including the radio issue. I will make sure I print out a number of the threads that discuss this problem as well.

I would like some of the other issues that everyone feels needs to be discussed. I have been very fortunate to not have any of the problems that others seem to have had so I don't have a complete list. I know I could do a search on the forum, but I want people to post actual issues in this thread. I do not want *****ing and moaning as I am going to print this list as well and give it to them.

Please post accurate and detailed descriptions of the problem - one problem per post please.

I will not show them any posting that uses profanity or puts them on the defensive. This is not meant to be a ***** session. I want facts and I want it clean and concise. If you cannot do that, do not post anything. That way I can have an adult conversation with them and not have them think I am jst someone who complains about every little thing.

If someone has already posted an issue you have, don't bother to add your two cents. Once the issue is listed, it is listed. It doesn't help to say it over again. Please read the issues posted before you post anything.

Sorry if this sounds rude, I just want it to work to our advantage not against us. Also please do not use any signature graphics.

I will remove any duplicate issues, edit posts that include graphics and remove any post that lists more than one item. Please follow my requirement on this.

My biggest gripe is the hood, can you make them aware that you can't close the hood without denting where it slopes down, there has been at least 20+members that have suffered this same dent where the hood slopes down. If your fingers dent the hood closing it I think its safe to say the metal is much to thin.

Accel pedal feel, and off idle "jerk"

Suggest they attempt the dial some of the off idle jerkiness out of the accel by wire throttle.Maybe they could give it more'feel" also.Mainly the idle to on throttle abruptness;it makes it tougher for inexperienced drivers-my son- to get the control correct when it is raining, and he is making a right angle turn at a stop sign.I am concerned he will bring the backend around. Thanks,Charlie

First and foremost, commend them for me on designing and bringing to market one sweet truck. It is a great alternative for truck owners. I was within hours of replacing my F 150 with another when I test drove the Titan. I have never looked back.
My one suggestion would be to look at interior fit and finish. I love the interior design, look and feel. I am, however, getting many squeaks and rattles that will need to be addressed. Rattles are a BIG pet peeve of mine. They are why I have had imported vehicles. I have generally found better build quality with my VWs and Nissans. I am constantly annoyed with the rattles. The bed rattles are another issue.
My dealer has been great in addressing my issues but this is an area that people will perceive as a quality issue. This will come back to bite Nissan down the road.
Keep up the good work and have fun meeting with Nissan, Keep us informed,
Chek6

No protection for the radiator in the lower grille area. Too wide open for road debris damage.

Brakes are not good. The pedal depresses too far and truck seems to nose down as if front brakes are doing all the work.

seatbelts in back

The belts in the back are anchored much too high. They should be anchored lower, or be adjustable. This really is a major issue for me. I bought the CC so I could carry at least 4 people, and now I find that they are very uncomfortable wearing the belts. This doesn't just apply to children, but also adults under 6'

I would like to know the real reason why Nissan will not package the VDC and e-locker together when it seems like a simple switch to shut off VDC while the e-locker was engaged in 4WD low would resolve any potential conflict which these two devices may experience if activated simultaneously. I love everything else about this truck and this is the only issue keeping me from buying one. I was actually already at my dealer ready to sign when this issue came up. I told the salesman that I would wait with my purchase until i can get both VDC and the e-locker.

I would also like to see real cloth used on the seats. The current fabric looks and feels really cheap.
