Atlanta Area Meet???

I've been thinking about this for some time now and the more new members we get here, with Atlanta as their home, makes me even more anxious to get something started.

Soooooo, what do all you Atlanta and surrounding area owners think? (By surrounding areas I mean anyone willing to drive to the Atlanta area). Should we try to have a get together in the near future or wait for more members before we have one?

Here's what I'm thinking, Six Flags has a huge parking lot that we could all meet up at. The kids can go play at the water park while we poke around at each others trucks for a while. And of course we can do the waterpark too.......Just no leopard skin thongs for the males!!! I'm sure Six Flags will rope off a section for us because I don't believe there will be too many of us at this time. We can bring food and cook-out or we can eat there. I'm up for suggestions and ideas as to where to meet because most any place will accomodate a group.

It would be really nice to have one of the moderators of this forum join us, hint hint rrumaner (your the closest one I think). And if we're really lucky maybe we can convince ekool (of which I'm sure he would love to fly in to join us, pm me ekool for a REALLY cheap ticket) or another member here to get us some T-shirts with TitanTalk on them.....

And of course it would be nice to have any Armada owners join us as well.

I don't mind spending the time to organize this event but the first thing is to detemine how many??? Then we can go from there.....

Well???????

You pay my gas and expenses to drive from Chicago to Atlanta and I would be happy to come down.

The next time I plan to drive down that way would be if/when we are getting together at the Nissan plant in Canton.

Seriously I would love to be able to join you, but I have so much Emergency Management Agency training coming up over the next few months that almost every weekend is now booked through August. Amazing the things one will do even when they are not paid for their time.

I may be able, but my schedule is too questionable to know for sure.
We don't have kids and generally my wife is only interested in shopping.

Whether you have kids or not is really no big deal. The water park is a blast for adults too. That brings up another thought as well, we can have it anywhere the majority would like to have it. It most certainly does not have to be at White water or Six Flags.

Also for those of you not in the Atlanta area, a 6 hour drive perimeter from Atlanta puts you well into FL, the Pan handle area of FL, over to Charleston, SC, it covers most of the folks living in the Smokies area in TN, a big part of NC, and way across Alabama. So if your willing to drive a measely 5 or 6 hours we would love to have you come.

well so far that's 4 (including myself) and one maybe. The time frame I'm looking at right now is late July before the kids have to go back to school. Say maybe the weekend of the 31st. I hate to be the only one putting out dates here and the place. I'm still up for suggestions!!!

I can probably get white T-shirts printed in full color (front and back) for about $6-8 each.

I'm in Kennesaw, GA.

Summer hols are comming up, why not do a weekday meet during the break? Something to do with the kids.

I am not sure if like this idea, but I thought I would throw it in the pot.

Any othter Atlanta boat owners?

I have a 20' inboard ski boat, but I can't hold more than 6 at a time.
If there is an interest we can maybe arrange for a day use area like Victoria Dayuse/ramp. There is a small beach next to the boat ramp and a large flat parking area. There are two separate lots with ramps so maybe we can reserve the lot next to the beach. I could take a few people out a time to ski or tube or whatever. I believe there are some grills at the beach as well.

I believe somewhere like Six Flags if pretty good because there is a bigger variety of things to do and not as much setup time, but again I thought I would throw in more ideas.

I own a boat as well, I usually go right to Kellogg Creek area to launch mine. It is a 19' I/O. I like the Lake idea better than Six Flags, but schedule permitting I would be able to do anything, it would just be easier for me to run down the road than to Six Flags. I do not really care it would just be cheaper to go to the lake and not to Six Flags.

Hey UGA, I usually ski in the at Kellogg Creek in the cove in front of the bridge or the cove down to the right. Normally early Saturday mornings while the water is flat. Unless we are on my friend's MasterCrap we use another part of Allatoona.

Most of my equipment is specialized, but I do have a pair combo skis. I do not have a tube, but I can probably get one cheap somewhere.

When I go to buy my annual ramp pass, I will ask the attendant if he knows about reserving the lot or ramp and see if it possible.
