After putting the wrong gas..

Well I just got my Titan back today and drove it home...Yesterday i putted the wrong gas but i wont say what it was.It feels as if when i push the pedal...its not as strong as it was before.Do you think after pumpin regular gas it would come back together?I hope the gas didnt get in my engine and cause it to become weaker -__-

im depress with my Titan now
its my fault i guess

I read your earlier posts about this and you have nothing to worry about. Your entire fuel system will soon be rid of this "wrong" fuel of which I'm sure some is still left in your system even if they did drain everything. In a few tanks your Titan will be strong as ever so you can burn those tires off!!

oh yeah, and another thing. Don't feel bad about this, your not the first one who has ever done it and you won't be the last one either. No harm done to your truck, maybe just a little to your wallet....

hey tranman, glad you got your ride back, I guess this means your not going to sell it to me at a reduced price. lol.
it will get better in time, die--- I mean that wrong gas won't do any long term harm.

Diesel fuel is much less volatile and will not ignite properly in an engine designed to run on gasoline. You should be okay to run the fuel out, however. Your truck just won't be very powerful with diesel being fed to it.

If you'd filled the entire tank with diesel fuel, there is a good chance your truck wouldn't even start, although I have heard stories of gasoline engines running on 100% diesel. The closer you are to 100% gasoline, the better your truck is going to run.

If the reverse ever happens to you (you own a diesel engine and it is filled with gasoline), then don't even try to start the engine.

quick question... I thought the nozzle for the diesel pump was much larger than for unleaded fuel?

That's what I'm thinking. Unleaded pump nozzles are typically 13/16" diameter, diesel 15/16", 1-3/16", 1-5/16". All modern vehicles that use unleaded gas are supposed to have filler necks on the fuel tanks that will accept only unleaded gas. If the diesel pump had the wrong nozzle installed you may have some recourse with the gas station.

yeap, something just doesn't seem right here Bayou_Titan. I have always heard of someone putting gas in a diesel tank coz its smaller but not the other way around.

I'm thinking it's back to Driver's Ed 101 for you. Remember these infamous words: "if the nozzle doesn't fit, don't convict!"--or something like that.

This will surely point out my age. I remember back in the early '70's you could buy a plastic adapter that slipped over the nozzle to keep in your car so that you could illegally pump the five cents a gallon cheaper leaded gas into a newer car with the unleaded sized fill tube. Anyone remember these? I think this manufacturer now makes a thing you can put underneath the handle of manual pump nozzles so you can let go of the nozzle and clean your windows.

hold on their man not a very smart move i quickly advise you to drain your fuel system immediately after that let the truck run for a while so it can burn out the remainder of the gas in the fuel lines then fill it up with regular gas
