Hehe. Although IMHO, I beleive that certain issues in the Maxima World are not caused by the car, but by the owners/people working on the car. Either people over torque stuff, don't break in new rotors/brake pad with proper bedding procedures, etc.
We have a guy there that wench moans about his 5 speed 4th gen Max. He swears he will never buy a Nissan again. Somebody did mentioned he sure knows how to "Put on a great burnout."
I have 185k+ miles on my 1995 GLE. I had the starter replaced by a great mechanic near my work place in Stoughton, MA area at 120k miles. I had ordered two axles (
www.raxles.com they use amsoil grease) at 147k miles.
Replaced Front Driver Side Wheel hub and Wheel Bearing. Replaced all my Shocks with Tokico Blues.
My driver side axle boot was ripped, I did not know it at that time, but i figured I had been driving it like that for a while, so I decided to invest in both front axles. My wheel hub and bearings were probably damaged because I am a big person. I was also riding on 4 lugs instead of 5 lugs since some knucklehead over-torqued one of them and it stripped taking it off.
I hit a friggin crater sized pothole in Mass at night time. I felt and heard the old strut going, and noticed a big air gap in my tire, so all shocks were replaced.
See, some of it my fault, and sometimes other.
