Anyone purchase a warranty from WarrantyDirect?

I'm looking for extended warranty coverage for my Titan. The dealer tried to sell me one for a ridiculous rate ($1200 for 5/75, $1600 for 5/100 - thievery) and wouldn't come down.

If you've bought from WarrantyDirect (or a similar site), which plan did you get, and did you pay a price other than that advertised on the web?

Thanks for the info, in advance!
HS

PS - if anyone has really good information on this topic, I'll post it in the FAQ as well.

HS, I had the WarrantyDirect 6/100 on a Chevy S-10 we had. Price for the plan was great but we sold the truck at 80k miles and never had it in for anything so I can't speak to claims experience. But, a refund for the unused portion was in my hand within 7 days.

Never ever ever buy a third party warranty. Unless GE or Warren Buffet is the underwriter, they won't be around to pay your bills. They undercut the manufacturer, who knows how much it's going to cost, just to get your business. Then they spend the money, and open another company that does the same thing. And if they aren't ready to close down, they just refuse your claim.

Always buy the manufactures warranty. Always buy it right before the stock factory warranty expires. (Time value of money, and who knows, you might sell the truck)

Just an opinion of course. But it's insurance, and just like health insurance, it makes you feel good until you have to use it.

I had a 3rd party extended warranty on my Tundra, and it was great - no problems with claims at all.

The longer you wait before buying a warranty, the higher the price goes -- like your life insurance premiums.

I purchased my 7/100k warranty from Warranties Direct and feel satisfied with the $1200 (approx) price as opposed to the $2400 price the dealer offered (and wouldn't budge on.)

I bought the warranty for piece of mind, knowing that this is a first year production model that will have it's share of issues. Down the road, if i run into problems with the company, then maybe I'll share your opinion on 3rd party warranties. For now, it's all good.
