Why does everyone have XM? I've looked and Sirius's lifetime subscription is cheaper than XM. Are the stations better? Does Sirius have coverage problems? They are both commercial free now so maybe someone could
help point out the differences. If this has been discussed before....sorry. I searched but didn't find.
XM has prospered more because of contracts with GM too have them installed in new vehicles with a free month. Alot chose too keep it. A buddy of mine has XM in his chevy truck, and it is freakin awsome! I am not sure on sirrius stations. You may be able too look up a station list for XM, and then sirius, and choose what stations you would like too listen too. I have heard of no coverage problems with serius. I think its just the contract with GM that makes XM bigger..
The problem with looking at the station lineup is that you can't make a decision based upon "70's Station". This does not help narrow it down as both services offer the same type of lineup.
I'm really looking for someone who has Sirius service to tell me that it's just as good as xm. Or not. Perhaps they are both good and I'm overthinking this. It just seems to me like everyone has XM and I want to know why.
A guy at work has sirrius mobile. He puts it in his tractor everynight. I can ask him, but i know he's gonna say he loves it. Here is what i find. If you like music get XM. If you like Talk radio get sirrius. This is what he has said. He was a morning show guy, and loved radio shows. Cant go wrong with XM if you like both.. Why am i trying too equalize?? Go get your darn XM radio.. Sirius i feel wont hold a candle too it.
Just curious about this lifetime subscription. Reading what was on the web site, it states the life of the radio. So what are you going to do when they change something in the service and your radio no longer works? Do you really think you'll have the radio more then 5 years? I was looking at the Sirius as well and would love to hear what those that have either one like about them?

This is why I pose these ques. Good catch. I missed that little technicality. Yes, looking for personal testimonial.

Sammy, you’re killing me…every time I read another thread I see this and just cracks me up. You are too funny. You must either be an English teacher or been correct at some point for your use of the word to\too? I know I have a lasting impression of the words “a lot” from an English teacher. She would dock anyone for using “alot” and if it was frequent enough, you could fail a paper for not knowing the difference between a made up word versus two words used in conjunction. Well anyway, try not to let the misuse of one or two words drive you completely insane.
As mentioned earlier, XM has an affiliation with GM. They followed a very similar model with XM as they did with OnStar. OnStar was ready to go under until GM just went and installed it on a host of vehicles, now it's popular with all brands of cars and doing well.
The two (not "to" or "too" btw) radio companies were doing poorly just a year ago, notably Sirius. The balance sheets were crap with a high cost per subscription and a high churn rate. I haven't re-examined them closely in the last year but when the time came to pick last month, I went XM as I know how successful GM's business model was with OnStar and figured it would work with XM too (not "two" or "to" btw).
So basically I was concerned Sirius would go under and I'd be stuck with their equipment. I'd for sure not buy a life time subscription to Sirius or even a long term one. Good luck getting your money back if they go under.

This may be a really stupid suggestions, but why don't you go their web site and hit, play this. They have most channel feeds in audio, and if you don't have the bandwidth, you can always click on the actual text of what they are playing. Spend a few hours doing that, and you'll get an idea. Or go to a stereo store during the day in the middle of the week. Screw with the thing for hours. Geez, an opinion is just that, you have to form your own, and I think even if you owned both for a week, you might not still know unless you sat there and listened. So do that now at the store.
I agree with Bluesun... Go to their web site and try it for your self. They give u like 20min or so, before u have to hit refresh, of free listening. Oh and dont forget about the NFL contract with Sirius.
