I got owned by a Hemi!!

Not really. I was driving just behind and beside a new Hemi Ram - red, flashy, 20" (or bigger) chrome spinner rims, Flowmaster exhaust, etc. All of the sudden he starts freaking out, speecding up and making all sorts of noise. We get to the red light (several people in front of both of us) and I roll down my window because he's sitting there revving his engine and staring at me.

Hemi: "I just wanted to prove your commercials wrong!"
Me: "Ummm, OK"
Hemi: "What, does that have 300 hp?"
Me: "305"
Hemi: "Yeah, well mine is 345 stock, and this one pushes 415"
Me: "OK"
Hemi: "It'll blow you off the road" <-- something like that
Me: "OK. I'm going home now".

He was too cool for me.

Too bad you couldn't have raced him. All the stress probably would have blown his tranny (or some other craptacular Dodge part), and you could have given him a ride to the dealership...lol...

Heh, that was the perfect way to handle that. Also, if he was that modified, of course his truck had nothing to do with the stock trucks in the commercials. However, I'm sure logic would escape him.

One of my favorite answers in situations like that is something to the effect of, "I've got nothing to prove, I'm confident over the size of my pecker". Usually pisses the posers right off, lol.

Yeah, I'm not sure how he expected me to react to all that. Yes, let's go race our 1/2 ton trucks in rush hour, please.

So far for me the comments have been on one end of the spectrum or the other but nothing in the middle. For most of the die hard big 3 fans (I used to be one) it's still a little hard for them to except that Nissan isn't just an alternative but is now a major player that came with its game face on. I've yet to honestly meet someone who has driven the Titan that didn't have that WOW! expression afterwards.

You know fred, I don't think I could ever have said it better myself. I too was once a spokesperson for Ford, however I am thankful that I allowed myself the opportunity to see what Nissan was all about. Truth is, my wife drives an "02 Altima and its really a nice car. Funny that having been such a Ford advocate, I always knew that I would never put her in one. I have seen the expressions on the face of a passenger in a truck with two drooling rednecks and could only imagine that he might be thinking, "I think that new Titan is a great looking truck, but I could never tell my buddies I feel that way." I know that the stereotype is somewhat crass but the truth is, every one of us here once drove an American (manufacturers) truck and had the courage to "step outside of the box" and try something different. We have come discover that we are a fortunate few. Don't worry though, for it is only a matter of time before one of the many naysayers finally throws caution to the wind and admits to one of his protesting buddies that he, if fact, likes the Titan. It will spawn a chain reaction for sure!!!!

History goes back to the Hemi777 thread for those around then and a few times since then and as recently as last week. This time his thread was edited for foul language that is not appropriate on this site (Warned previously on this a few times now) then his response is another attempt to call me personally out into the forum on my doing my job as a mod.

Thats all there is to it.

Chris

Look at the bottom of Titan21's post in the "Reason" section of his edit. For what it's worth, one of the Mods jobs IS to edit posts.
