My newly discovered observation

I sure hope that this has not been discussed before, or I will feel sorta silly after the title name I have given. Anyway, I have not noticed this until just today, but the dial on the A/C that controls where the air is actually being channeled (face, floor, etc.) seems to have more incremental "stops" in it than there are icons on the dial. Basically, it appears as though there is an extra "stop" in between all of the icons. I hope that others do this as well, that way someone might be able to shed some light on why this was set up this way.

yes, it changes the percentage/direction of air, when you select the in-between stops, to the direction of the pointer on the dial. Damn that sounds confusing but I think you know what I'm talking about. It gives a better written description in the service manual.

Actually that makes all the sense in the world. I wondered if that were the case, but when I tried hard to actually study whether or not this was occuring, it seemed as though it was not. In fact, I must admit that I thought that you were making that part up until you mentioned the part about the service manual. Allow to apologize for the moment of doubt and thanks alot for the answer. By the way, your truck looks great!!

ok, here's a better way of saying it. In the bi-level position your putting 50% to the dash and 50% to the floor. One click counter-clockwise (in-between) the bi-level and floor with give you 25% to the dash and 75% to the floor, one more click counter-clockwise to the floor setting will give you 100% to the floor. There, that's better......

Jet beat me to it!
That's exactly correct.
I just wish my Toyota made vehicles did that also.
