Since I bought a Titan and my friend has a 2004 F150 Lariat CC, I have noticed a few things and though I would jot them down to help those that are still on the fence. Please keep in mind that his is 4X4 and mine is 4X2, and this is in no way meant to flame either truck in any way so please don’t turn this into a flaming post.
Things on the Ford that are unavailable on the Titan:
• Keyless pass code entry (the number pad on the door handles)
• Automatic climate control (digital)
• Steering wheel climate control adjustments
• Illuminated steering wheel controls
• Power rear window
• Automatic locking doors (some say this is annoying)
• Good FM reception
• Easy lift tailgate
• Turn signal mirrors
Things on the Titan that are unavailable on the Ford:
• Navigation
• Auto up/down front pass. & drivers windows
• Flip up & Down rear seats (CC)
• Utility bed
• Side storage compartment
• Tailgate lights
• Automatic headlights
• One touch moon roof controls
• Tow mode
• VDC
• 5 Sdp. Transmission
• Better gas mileage
Other things I have noticed is the interior of the Ford is slightly better, but just slightly (both are leather). I would give the Ford a 9 (out of 10) and the Titan an 8. Although we have not raced our truck…and my friend has no desire to for some reason …the Titan feels more powerful for sure . The ride quality of the Ford is about 1 point better than the Titan as well. The Titan seems to bounce slightly more on the freeway than the Ford. These are the things I’ve noticed so far. I am sure you guys will point out some other things I’ve missed. My conclusion is that they are both fine vehicles, but they are geared toward people with different tastes…or are they? Personally I just choose not to buy anything Ford (or Dodge for that matter) but I have my reasons. It’s just good to know that we have these options out there. If there is a fellow Titan owner out there who knows a Dodge owner, maybe you could write a similar comparison for those that are trying to decide. Oh, and for the sake of fairness my Titan has been to the dealer to fix 2 problems (1 major 1 minor) since May 5th. My friends Ford has had no issues to date since October 2003.
Good poiints....I raced a F-150 and beat him so you should be happy
I kinda have to agree that the ride feels "bumpy" while riding on the freeway but its not that bad.Im really annoyed with the FM radio though and if theres any possible way to get a better reception in the future then Nissan better hurry up.....Im considering XM Radio though
If I remember correctly the Titan's tires come over inflated from the factory. If you set them at the correct pressure ride quality will improve if your tires are over inflated.

As an owner of an F-150, Tundra, and Titan all in the past three years, I can tell you the Titan really does not handle freeway expansion joints well. End of story on that one. Yeah, you can mitigate it with tire pressure on the Titan, but the Ford definitely has the plushest ride. The trade off for the plush ride however is that the Ford feels like it wallows in hard corners and has a larger turning radius than the Titan and Tundra. IMO, the Tundra has the best compromise between ride quality and driving characteristics. However, the Tundra (except for the DB which I haven't driven) is not as large as the other two trucks so it's not to be wondered at that its drive characteristics are such as they are.
End of story though, I'd rather catch a little freeway rattle while the other two guys are enjoying the looks of my tail lights.

Are we talkin about luxury sedans, or are we talkin about trucks??? I just don't get it. The Titan is "slightly more bumby"? I know they are tryin to make trucks like cars, for all those who normally wouldn't buy trucks. But lets not forget that it isn't a luxury sedan, and w/a truck come some truck-like characteristics that some just might never get rid of. I think if you are rating a Titan a little lower than a ferd b/c you feel a few bumps, you should think about selling your truck for a Maxima or save up for an Infinity. I don't know why anyone would complain about some bumps in a truck. Personally, I would miss feelin a few bumps. But, then again, I'm a truck owner and lover -always have been and always will be. So I like when it feels like I'm drivin a truck. I would have bought a sedan if I wanted to feel like I was driving one of those.

1) Read through the entire thread. No where did I see anyone say, "slightly more bumby (sic)".
2) "..for all those who normally wouldn't buy a truck". Read my post. I've owned an F150, Tundra, and Titan in the last three years. Does this sound like someone that "normally" would purchase a truck? Or for that matter that needs to "save up" for an Infinity?
3) I'm not talking about "feelin (sic) a few bumps." The first time I hit I-10 expansion joints coming into Phoenix at speed, it was enough to make you piss blood.
4) I'm a "big tent" type of person. I'm not going to tell someone to get out of the Titan party just because they don't like a certain characteristic of the truck.
If that was the case, large trucks have historically NOT been known for impressive acceleration. Historically, to feel, "like I'm driving a truck" was to be driving a large vehicle that did not turn the 0-60 in well under eight seconds (I'm not talking a faux-truck here, like a Chevy SS or Dodge SRT but a "real" truck). So if we accept this premise, most people here should be selling their trucks and eating macaroni and cheese so they could save up for that Infinity.
Lastly, I own a luxury sedan, well actually sport luxury. Even with a sport orientation, my sedan is like a 1963 Grahm port vs. a bottle of Boon's Farm when it comes to ride vs. the Titan. I don't think anyone that's ever driven both would mistake the fact that you're in a truck.
You're entitled to your opinions Dan, but I think you're judging your fellow Titan drivers a little harshly there.

Sorry I misquoted : Sarkazm said "bouncy on the freeway". Chillcat - I'm not judging anyone, and I certainly did not mean for people to go through my post line by line and analyze it. I'm just sayin that when you own/drive a truck, you can't expect that it is going to be the smoothest ride ever, and when he said "bouncy on the freeway", just seemed to me that that kind of thing is normal in a truck. I don't own a Titan yet, so I guess I don't know exactly how "bouncy it is on the freeway", but I've test driven a couple on the freeway, and it didn't seem bad at all.
Obviously, no one is gonna take my suggestions to heart, I was exaggerating, so I don't think I was being hard on anyone. And never did I say sell your Titan - I merely offered a suggestion on how to solve the problem. Look bro - I apologize for offending you or anyone else. I don't think anyone drivin a 5400 lb truck should not expect a few bumps. Period.
PS Thanks for the congrats in the other post. You're a true stud w/a huge unit.

Dan, I am aware that All trucks have some sort of "bounce" to them, including the Ford. And no I am not comparing luxury sedans. It was JUST AN OBSERVATION of mine...nothing more nothing less. In no way did I say the "Ferd" was better than the Titan, gee check my sig dude I own a Titan!

I know you own a Titan bro, I didn't figure that the pic in your sig was just a snapshot of one on the road! You did rate the Ferd's ride quality 1 point better than the Titan's, so you did kinda say that the Ferd was better (also you gave it 1 point better in the interior). Sorry if I jumped the gun, I just don't think that a few bounces on the highway is an issue.
I agree ,the Titan does have a big problem with expansion joints. It is odd, since it can handle bigger, sharp edged positive bumps very well, but when it hits a series of much shorter expansion joints,it sorta gets to rocking.Charlie
I drove my buddies silverado one time and it was like driving a marshmallow.. I like to be able to feel the road.. not feel like I'm sitting in a beanbag chair levitating in mid air.

I have had my titan since DEC I have 5500 miles on it. Once you break in the suspension it actualy rides quite nice. I personaly like the stiff suspension it makes the truck feel more solid and rugged. I have driven many chevys and don't like the (lack of control at high speeds) feel that they have. When you hit a dip in the road the truck is everywhere, or so it feels. I am very happy with the tight ride the titan has and how well it takes corners for a large truck. I do have one question for off road titan owners. Do the ranchos make that big of a differance, do you feel that you ride quality is good? I am considering upgrading to ranchos in the future.
