This is a freakin' Nightmare!!!

I swear this is no lie! My wife drives a 96 jetta thats on its last legs. She has had her heart set on a caravan ,or quadcab dodge forever, but i keep telling her too wait, and look around. She had too pick her mother up from the airport lastnight, and this morning she tells me she found what she wants. Its a freakin' Titan at R Stempler Nissan in whitemarsh Md. I liked too choke on my freakin cigerette. She says it has more room in the back for the kids, and it has the rack which she likes in the bed, and it looks tough. Now you may find this silly for a woman, but my wife's first vehicle was a Chevy dually with a 454. Her second was a mazda 4x4 that i took over after marriage. That truck lasted ten years till my new Dodge. She's a pickup girl, but never ever thought a damn titan!! I told her whatever she picks out i will put 2k down on. She's a CPA, but a stay at home mom. She's way smarter then i am, but we choose this way till the kids are raised. If i have too get a freakin titan for her its gonna suck! I like the titan's, but damn. I live in redneck village. a VW car they know its for the wife. A freakin titan they think i own it. You got too understand these hillbillys. I swear if she gets a titan the plates will say "wife"

LOL, Budman we really know it's you who wants the Titan, it's ok! Admitting it is the first step, don't worry about those hillbillies (sp), you could be the trendsetter But seriously, your wife has great taste (errr, except for the caravan and quadcab dodge)!

The majority of my family is redneck, the funny thing is they all drive Toyotas as there personal trucks. 4runners, Tacomas, Tundras, T100s, etc. Rednecks appreciate things like power, torque, and reliability (which is the main reason they all drive Toyotas.) Once they found out I had a Titan, they were all very interested in it and had nothing but good comments. Being redneck does not always mean driving only a big three truck. I hope you didn't purchase your Dodge just to "fit in." If your wife does get a Titan, she'll be fighting you out of the driver seat.

Bud,
You must be a pretty good guy. Your wife obviously has good taste in spite of being married to a dodge guy.

Budman,

If you're afraid to buy an import, you might be a redneck!

Enjoy that Titan Bud!

Hey Budman,

You're right, your wife is smarter than you!!!

Look at it this way, maybe she'll give you the Titan when she's through with it like she did the Mazda!!

You're all right in my book, after sharing a story like that one!!

Life is stranger than fiction.

Your wife being a pickup girl obviously recognizes a good truck when she sees one. You are correct she is smarter then you.Let us know how you like the drive man. Also make sure you personally wash it at least once a week and polish once a month.

My wife has been driving a '95 Tacoma since I met her.. I have a Chevy C1500 that we've been using to tow the boat back and forth to the lake. She started off with SUV and 4wd as the only requirements. We live kind of far out, the snow plows rarely make an appearance after a storm, and we usually can't even get out of the driveway. I tend to agree 4wd would be useful in the winter here.

We looked at the Toyota 4runner and the Pathfinder. Both handled and accelerated like her Tacoma. I couldn't see spending 30k on what felt like a $15,000 truck which got some extra sheet metal and is now called an SUV. I had a "I'm gonna break this silly thing" feeling when test driving the Pathfinder.

Something that seated 4 was also a pretty firm requirement. With our existing two pickups and my Corvette, there's no way to carry more than two people without someone volunteering to get strapped to the roof.

She was pretty dead-set against getting another pickup truck. "Girls shouldn't drive pickup trucks."

We test drove the Hemi Durango. Nice truck. I wasn't too sure what we'd end up doing with the extra 3 rows of rear seats though, since we don't plan on having any kids.

We saw the Titan and she really started diggin' it. A test drive was all it took. Monsterous power, lots of room, 4wd and it seats 4 people... all for about the same price as the 4runner and Pathfinder. Needless to say, I was pretty happy about the whole situation.

I will admit it's easy to forget the Titan is a gigantic truck when you're out tooling around... then reality strikes when it's time to park it!

Unfortunately, our Titan has been plagued with some pretty serious issues and a dealer that always says "NORMAL OPERATION" no matter what the complaint. We had a "Coming to Jesus" with the dealer's Executive VP yesterday and he's going to have a little chat with the service people to make sure things get done right.

Budman! Like you said, "She's way smarter then i am..."
Sometimes it's hard to be the king. It's funny how when momma wants a Titan, momma gets a Titan. Now, when the other wives in the neighborhood see what she got, they're gonna want one, too! Then we'll see if those other Dodge owners are as open-minded as you are.

If the aftermarket comes out with a new grill and gets rid of the two vertical pieces in the grill the Titan would have a mean front end. That is the only part of the nose I don't like. If my Ram was stolen today I would probably buy a Titan, but not because I don't like my Ram or because I have any problems (extreemly reliable truck) but because you get more bang for the buck.
