Re: Power draw on battery with motor off?

You have to let the ECU go to "sleep" before you can take a reading on the "phantom draw".
At least a 30 period

Honeykeeper did a test, his post
Quote:
I decided to test the phantom load/leakage at the battery on my Titan.
With initial hook-up of power one can see the integrated circuity on our Titan requires a breif "charge-up" of ~1 amp or 12 watts.
If the engine isn't turned on within 30 minutes most circuits cleverly step down to a conservative "idle/sleep mode".

Here's the average "phantom load/leakage" readings from connect to 5 min. to 30 minute... idle/sleep = ~ 20 mA.

0.24 watt/hr. is the idle leakage/phantom load. This would only effect a battery sitting for weeks without a charge unless you have a non OEM combo deep cycle battery installed.

Connect = ~909 Ma.......5 minute = ~124 Ma.......30 minute = ~20 Ma = idle/sleep-phantom load.

Re: Power draw on battery with motor off?

Well was not parasitic draw on the battery it was a bad battery! The frst place I took it to said the battery was fine. After checking everything with a meter took it somewhere else. Battery was only getting up to 375 cranking amps voltage was good just no amps.
