Wax on ... wax off ... wax on :::thud:::

So far today, I've spent my time wisely. Washed the truck this morning and then followed with a good claybar-ing. Now I just removed the second layer of Zaino wax and am taking a break before power-buffing with the final layer of gloss enhancer.

While so closely inspecting the outside of the truck all day, I got to wondering if anyone has painted their chromed mirror caps. I know chroming mirror backs is the current "thing" to do but I think I'd really like mine better a flat black - or even body color matched.

Anyone attempted this yet? Is it something best left to a body shop? Or can it not even be done over the chromed plastic?

Thanks!
