Question--Two Holes Sides of Truck Bed

I just noticed a hole through the truck bed side wall at the front end of the track system, both sides. Holes are the size of quarter. Do others have these on their trucks, or should these be covered by a plug cover? Just checking.

I have them. No plugs covering the hole, but usually hidden by the bed divider when it is against the front wall of the bed.

my truck has some small slits in that location, my guess is that they are drainage holes. Most trucks have some way in which to allow water drainage.
