I've owned my Titan since the first of January and haven't raced until tonight. As I left my dad's house to drive home I was attempting to merge into traffic on the "loop" in Shreveport when a truck behind me kept speeding up to prevent me from merging. This happens all the time and really pisses me off. You can tell when people are doing this intentionally. This time anger got the best of me and I thought to myself "I'm not getting squeezed this time". Each time that I would speed up he would also. I couldn't tell what make of truck he had by looking at my rear view mirror at night. I kept speeding up (while pulling my 10 ft. utility trailer) and he would keep speeding up. Believe it or not I was mad and stupid enough to pull my trailer at close to 100 mph! I finally beat the guy in the truck and he gave up. I then slowed to the posted speed limit. The guy pulls along side of me and now and I could see that it was a Hemi that I beat. The guy ( a twenty something with a baseball cap turned around back wards) looks dead at me with a huh? "what kind of engine/truck do you have?" kind of look and then just lagged behind me.
I felt stupid and glad at the same time. I wish I had a decal to place on my fender to represent a Hemi "kill".

Whoa, 100 mph with a trailer is not a good idea especially when doing a pseudo-race stunt like that.
Let's try and keep the craziness down to a minimum... the last thing we need are high-speed accidents involving Titans and their owners.
Personally, if the guy next to me gets a kick out of being ahead of me, more power to him. I'll be the more mature, rational, practical, conservative, and law-biding person. I'm not going to personally prove to each person on the road that my truck is the fastest.
Bayou Titan, you're right;we have a lot of jerks in La that just won't let you merge. They will run you into an abutment before letting you merge in front of them.Instead, you have to brake hard, and hope to merge behind them-which is twice as hard, since you have lost 20 mph of merging speed!
Well, that is what I have to do when I'm driving the Prizm;with the Titan,it is a different story.I just flip my turn signal, and hit the gas!
I always let folks merge,I wave them over. When I see an acceleration lane,I move to the middle lane-no skin off my nose.
100 mph with a trailer, not bad. When I was much younger I used to pull this;when some prick wouldn't let me merge,I would pretend to be completely unaware that they were next to me,and I would lean over and fiddle with the radio while slowly moving left.I was watching the whole time, and being as careful as you could be(considering what I was doing-you know what I mean). They would finally brake hard, and honk and curse.Yeah,it was stupid,but...Charlie
Wow.. HEmi's are already a close competitor (performance-wise). Had to be a pretty light trailer, eh?
I have a little 4'x8' utility trailer that just about weighs 800 lbs fully loaded and dripping wet. Doing 100mph behind the Titan, passing was no problem... Just don't get caught, HIPO would love to give you a ticket for going 45mph over the 55 towing limit... WOW that would cost ya some $$$
STill very stupid and dangerous, have to admit cuz I did it too so I'm not whining for anyone to be careful. We all had parents and moved out, not looking to have them again right?
But consider if the trailer blows a tire, or gets too far off on a soft shoulder around a turn, or a dozen other things.. could really snap your rear-end around in front of you and at that speed you would be lucky to be able to post your pics of the smashed up truck on the forum..
I have to congragulate you on the kill, I would have done the exact same thing.. anyways, how heavy is your trailer??

The trailer is very light. Probably less than a 1,000 lbs. Probably the only thing more stupid than racing with a trailer is boasting that I did it on this forum. Shouldn't raced.

Hey Bayou Titan,
Yeah I know, it's not the smartest thing in the world to go racing down the street, but untill these jerks find out what the TITAN is I guess we have to show them. I'm not a racer either but I found myself in the same kind of scenario, and the outcome was the same.
Anyway, don't feel to bad.
Congrats on the kill.
Daryl
I had to race a RAM 2500 this morning in the exact same situation. This guy simply didn't want to let me on the expressway and certainly showed his displeasure when I pulled in front of him at the last minute. Now he could have been one of those drivers who can't stand anyone pulling in front of him because now he is one vehicle farther away from his destination or he could have really hated the fact that I was driving a far superior vehicle. Either way, within a minute of pulling in front of him, I was given the bird 3 times (oh that really hurts) and flashed by his birghts at least 5 times (again, that really hurts). When we came up to the next on ramp 2 more cars pulled in front of him and I lost track of him at that point.

While I'm ranting ,(you guys know I like to rant) I hate whenever I'm on the interstate and somebody speeds up from behind me, passes me, then cuts me off to take the exit ramp that's only 100 yards away. What did they achieve by passing me just before exiting?-a tenth of a second? This happens almost every day.

I dont get that one. I mean I get the guy got mad, but a few times a year people Get Shot for ignorant acts like that. Crazy - you never know who's in the other vehicle...
nah you gotta dust somebody hwahhh to enjoy the feelings we had...it feels great
dusting somebody and being turned into dust are two entirely different things. In this case there was a 50/50 shot of either one of these possibilities happening. This time, he was lucky.
