I thought I read somewhere on this forum that someone'd got an explanation from a Nissan rep that the problem was caused by the calipers not releasing properly. Something about the 2 pins....I could be confused though.
You are right. my dealer has told me the same thing. that the Calipers are not sliding smoothly and are hanging up. they are looking at comming out with all New Designed Calipers. And it may take a while. Some peoples brakes my be so bad that they have to replace both the rotors and pads.

Nope you are correct! You did read that just like I did. Personally if I had warped rotors and I needed to take it in I would have that statement printed out and see if I could get that statement verified by Nissan prior to taking it to the dealer for repair. But you know what ? More then likely those calipersor even the pins are not even in the works! Just one of the many comments we "hear" on various posts re: warped rotors. Seems like there is no set defiinite agreement from Nissan or even admittal of a problem therefore no TSB! Just a lot of comments and rumors flying around!
Really SUCKS!
Maybe that's why it's taking them so long, I must be getting new rotors/pads/calipers.... I'd better call and tell them what color I want the calipers painted
So it looks like you got the new pads and rotors for the front only, correct?
The rear pads and rotors would have different part numbers than the front.
JD
thats true, front or back. when i went to pick the truck the service manager had already left for the day so i wasnt able to talk to him about what the problem was and the other guy there didn't know anything. im gonna stop by tomorrow

Hey, that's not fair. I brought the car in before you did . They are probably waiting for the part to fix the flashing 4LO problem too as I told them I refer to have eveything fixed on the same day.
What I wonder is someone mentioned that the calipers is the problem (don't release?) and it's known by Nissan . I am not sure why they replace the pads and rotors.
Who's your service advisor? I always deal with Patrick.
i dealt with art, he's the top dawg service manager there. he was very professional and he knew exactly what the problem was. no problems at all. i know the patrick you are talkinga about, he wasn't there.
