Just test drove a titan but have a question?

i Liked the truck very much it was a Silver XE KC 4x4. THe one thing that struck me as odd was it did not have power windows or locks. What package is needed to get these? Seems very odd that a truck with a 6 disk indash changer does not come with somthing as simple as power windows and locks?

SE and LE models have them. These two elements including the silver-plated door handles and the nicer looking rims was the reason why i went for the SE instead of XE. I'm sure there are more things i'm not mentioning but those features were most appealing to me (off the top of my head).

You drove a Titan w/the XE Preferred Package. I think they have a package w/6 disc-changer b/c they think that people would want a nicer sound system and not want to pay the extra couple of G's to get the SE package. You were lookin at the base model, and as far as I know (just checked the Nissan website again) there is no package that will get you power windows and locks w/an XE. The diff between the truck you were in and an SE model w/4x4 drivetrain is $2k, MSRP. In addition to power windows and locks, the SE comes w/front captains chairs, chrome mirrors, overhead console, privacy glass in the back, the shifter on the floor (instead of on the column) and many other things. The Nissan Titan webpage is: http://www.nissanusa.com/vehicles/Mo...,24367,00.html
They have all the details there.

The overhead console and the privacy glass in the back is on the xe with preferred package. It kinda depends if you want to spend a couple of g's more for chrome and power windows and locks. Personally i don't think it is worth it and would rather spend the money on modifications.

i agree, its nice to get those mods, but nothing beats having the power windows, power locks, etc. etc. i used to have a little tacoma short bed bare bone truck that had nothing but a radio and a stick, now i feel like royalty having a power locks and windows in the TITAN, lol. its much more conveinant and fun. in the long run i think you would rather have an SE or LE. either way, any TITAN you get is the best truck you can have.

its to be expected that any vehicle with a sticker price of 27,010 should have power windows and locks, i can see not having the power mirrors casue how often do you really move those.

I'm going to pay my truck off in full before i make any more mods. i have customized several vehicles and lost 1,000's so i am going to pay minbe off before i start dropping any cash into it, the gas tank is a never ending battle trying to keep it topped off esp the way it seems like it is always thirsty for fuel!

No power windows means no power window problems! Which Nissan has on almost all of it's cars/trucks. I/we have had or have:
3 Pathys
2 Frontiers
1 Xterra
1 Titan
and all but the manual window 99 Frontier have had power window problems. There is a recall out right now for some 2001/2002 Frontys and Xterras for window regulators.

AMEN! I did the same thing. Every darn vehicle i ever owned with power something it ended up a problem. If its not the first year its the 5th year. Always end up being a problem. I also got a SE with a nice package. I also have no carpet because i tend too ruin it after 6months. In 96 i got my wife a VW jetta with no roll up windows, but sunroof is power. Anyone remember the one with the bike. Yeah, i paid a extra 3k for a 400 bike. I was stupid then LOL. Windows still go up and down, but the darn sunroof was shorting something and was blowing fuses. Took me 2hrs too find out the problem. Now she cranks it with a allen wrench if she wants too use it. No use in fixing. Car is on its last legs.

I agree. I have lost tons of money also modding vehicles. I got 4yrs left then i will play with it. Although $100 and a coke bottle you can run alot faster. Thats not much money.

My SE is the popular pkg as well...there are two packages...one designates the bench and one the captains chairs.

Your sticker should read a discount of somewhere around $180, b/c the captains chairs are standard w/that package. Also, the popular package w/bench seat is $400 cheaper than the popular package w/captains chairs.

As for no power windows, I don't know what you guys are talkin about. Yeah, it is less to go wrong, but that is a very basic function that would be caused (usually) by a fuse or a short, both easy things to fix. I had a Frontier, and never had a problem w/my windows, and my Pops had a Maxima and never had problems with his. In a big truck like this, it would be a huge pain in the *** to roll up and down the windows every time you wanted them up or down. You guys must use the A/C an awful lot, but for someone that almost never uses it, power windows (esp. in a huge truck) is really helpful.

I hate not having power locks in my truck. As far as windows i dont mind it. I can roll mine down. If someone is sitting over there then they can roll it down. I have never used a AC in my life. My father did HVAC for a living, and he never owned a AC in the house. He said he's not going too sweat his *** off all day, then come home too AC. I think Central Air coming out pissed him off cause he had too go back too school at 35yrs old. I think thats why he didnt like it. LOL He passed in 89 so we are talking along time ago. I never use AC in my truck. If they would just offer power locks without the windows. Sorry guys, i am horrible for getting off subject. I type pretty good, and if i have something too say i type without thinking. unless it has a to/too in it. Then i stop too think..
