Heavy Towing Report

Currently we're irrigating corn and with that we are putting liquid fertilizer through the system. I decided to take the Titan to pick up the nurse tank yesterday morning and the gross weight of the tank alone was 10,940 lbs. I had no doubts the truck would pull the trailer but I was little concern about it pushing me through an intersection. I've had that issue with various Fords and GM's. It pulled it without a problem and I must say I was impresed with the braking. I had to come through town with several stops and not one time did it feel like I was being pushed. My truck specs are in my signature.

I haven't pulled with the Titan yet but I was pulling a Bobcat with my Sierra last year and it nearly pushed me 1/2 way through an intersection even with the surge brakes on the trailor. As soon as it got enough pressure to activate the surge brakes the GMC abs would let up pressure it seemed and the no stop cycle started.
The learning curve is sharp but was glad I never had to make an emergency stop.

I have pulled the same type of trailer you are talking about and the Titan has done great. It handles the weight better than any 1/2 ton I have ever used. It handles it as good as some 3/4 tons. It is a big load so stopping it is something you have to live with. I have a GMC 1 ton dually that isn't that much better stopping a trailer loaded like that than my Titan. The engine pulls the load great. I have had no problem any time.
