Tis my understanding ...

As I understand it, the OEM navigation system cannot be added "aftermarket". Honestly, I'm not sure of the details, but I purchased it as the dealership explained to me that this could not be done and why.

If your vehicle comes with all the other "necessities" they claim are necessary to have the nav system package (sunroof, side air bags and DVD system), I don't know why you couldn't buy one from someone selling their stock unit and install it. But then again, I'm not a technical guru so I'll leave that to someone smarter than me to support you with.

There are several aftermarket navigation systems that will work independently of what's already in your build. That might be an easier option to consider.

It can be done.

A car audio installer or anyone experienced with aftermarket audio could do it. You'll probably need the Titan's Shop/Tech/Electronics manual(s), have to take apart a lot of the interior. It is much more work than a simple head unit.

Besides buying from the dealer, junk yards, ebay, or owners who removed the stock nav system are possible sources.

New from the dealer, the parts are probably prohibitively expensive.

Used, make sure you have the manuals, know who you are buying from, what you are buying, and what effort it will take.

Pioneer AVIC80 Nav

I have installed a aftermarket Nav system on mine and it works well. I have a 6.5 inch touchscreen monitor with it. It has 2 other inputs for connecting the DVD from the backseat to the front seat. Also can add a rear view camera.

Do you happen to have pics of the installation, if so could you post?
I am going between that and a Garmin 2620 on the dash.

I wish i can shrink the size of the picture I scanned. I cant post the pic. Maybe you can help me.

Try going on to the pioneer website and look up AVIC 80 with a 6.5 touch monitor. I installed mine where the factory NAV would be. It is also connected to my speedometer cable to calculate my speed and distance. It is very accurate to within feet. I liked this one coz its voice activated. Good luck in your search and PM me if u have questions.

Be happy to reduce it for you, Titanminator. Send it to me via my email address listed and if that doesn't work, PM me and I'll give you my work email address. There no limits to file sizes I can receive there.
