Re: What did you do to your Titan Today?

tested out my suspension at 2am... got called to take this drunk chick home that i've been friends with for a while and got pissed cause she wouldn't tell me where to go and i was driving all over wasting gas, remembered there was a big dip (gutter) in the road a little to late and decided to gun it rather than slam on the brakes. It was a little bigger than i remembered...lol. My bumper scrapes when i hit it slow... thats how big it is! Well i hit it at about 60 WOT and got all 4 tires off the ground slamming both our heads into the dash board... thought for sure i broke something but i still can't see anything wrong. Good thing i put 2" bump stops on!

Re: What did you do to your Titan Today?

Ordered a Gatorback belt for the T today. Just went over 50k miles so changing belt as PM. Thanks to TT got the pn 4070975 belt, vs the pn 4070970 belt, which apparently is too tight. Always pays to do your home work!

How long did it take you to do, and did you jack the truck up or not?

I went out to put mine on but it was dark and decided using just a flashlight wouldn't work out too well so I waited

Go to a local auto parts store(checker, oriellys, advanced auto, pep boys) something like that and buy a extra 4 inch clamp because Osiris and myself broke the same clamp that goes on the back side of the muffler. I would get it just to be safe.

I would say it took me about an hour total with no jack or lift. I just layed under it and it went well. Like clifford said the clamps that came with it are a bit weak so don't over do it. I tried following the torque recommendations and snapped the 2.5" clamp before I got to the recommended 100 ft lbs. I also cracked the band clamp for the muffler. Other than that everything went very smooth. Another tip is use your spare tire jack with a cloth on it to position your tip to the desired position, so it makes it easier when installing the tail pipe.

Good Info right there!!!

I bought the Gatorback #4070970 cause i didn't know better & that was the part# listed for my T... I installed it on the truck, ran the same, but it was really tight on the pulleys before even releasing the tensioner! So i was a little weary of it messing something up so i took it back off & put the OEM belt on.

I'm going to order the #4070975 & just keep the shorter one as a backup.
