Top speed?

What is the titan limited to by the governer? Also what happens when the governer kicks in? Does it just not accelerate anymore? Thanks

114mph and that is due to the tire ratings. You lose the power to accelerate any more when the governor kicks in.

So will the tires blow if you go any faster than that?

i foolishy went up to about 110 last week, then the thought of "im in a 1/2 ton truck going over 100 mph" hit me and quickly braked. its crazy thinking of what kind of accident you can get into going over 100 mph, never do it.

I tried that in a 66 Ford V8 pickup and had the hood fly up on me becaus e the gas station attendant (remember those guys) didn't latch the hood so good. Got it back down by watching the white line out my window

At over 114 mph, the gas tank will probably run dry before the tires get that hot.

There is no one speed at which the tires will overheat and blow.

Tire heat is a function of speed and pressure. Heat is generated in a tire due to the air in the tire being compressed/squished when the tire rolls. More speed = more heat. More pressure = less heat. More weight on the tire = more heat.

Just kidding of course. 75 mph is plenty fast for me these days as I recall the harsh results of Firestones blowing at speed on SUVs.

I doubt it was running anywhere above 90 at that RPM. With tow package that RPM is roughly 85-87 mph.
