You missed these at crutchfield. I here they can't be beat for the price. http://www.crutchfield.com/S-6lXc8bx...&avf=Y&search=

Or I must reccomend the ID's http://www.cardomain.com/item/IDSIDQ10D4V2 They cost a bit , but I currently have one in my Accord, powered with ~250 watts if eclipse power. It simply kicks a$$. You can check out my install here: http://www.sounddomain.com/memberpage/205281/3

Good Luck Sammy!

Here's some picts of the amp and mount I made for it under the driver's seat. I had to raise it from the floor to allow the heater vent to operate properly.

And of course Claymore was pleased:

That Polk sub has a power range of 50-175 watts RMS, my amp operates at 250w bridged, it might be too much.

hey sammy just an update--I didnt get to finish my wiring as I am dampening the doors and floor--and man does it take some time ( my first time trying sound dampening--I usually just say screw it)--but I figured my first large ticket car--why not be a little more proffesional. anyway I probably wont get he wiring done until maybe next weekend--sorry.

would you mind telling me the specs for A-D-- I know the arrows are crude but it was the best I coudl do with paint I am at work and we dont have photoshop on our work computers .

at the front of the back seat and the rear--I measured 8"--front to 6" rear. is this right?? I measured from the door to side of seat at 16" and from the back wall to the front of the seat as 14" do these specs sound right. I am using 0.5" mdf so I know that I will have to factor the added 1/2 " into the HT can thxx!!!

I have to go rear seat as I dont think I can get a woofer with 4" mounting depth plus a box under the font seat. it doesnt appear to be enough rooom--and trying to fabricate a box to match the stock subwoofer (which is plastic) out of wood would be a real challenge.

Here are some subs that I would wholly recommend:

http://www.partsexpress.com/pe/pshow...number=299-670 - Great buy for a Soundstream Sub.

http://www.partsexpress.com/pe/showd...number=295-185 - Even though this is a no-name brand, it is a better sub than your typical Rockford-Fosgate, MTX, etc. subs than you find at your local BestBuy, Circuit City, Cruthfield, etc. Do an internet search for Dayton Audio subs and you will be amazed at the number of people using these subs for DIY (do-it-yourself) projects mainly for home theater...which is much more demanding than car audio. Look at the frequency response (look for subs that go as low as 20Hz - lower is better) and Xmax (distance cone will travel - bigger is better).

Here is one of Dayton's best subs:
http://www.partsexpress.com/pe/showd...number=295-414 - This is one bad *** sub at a wonderful price. Used extensively in home audio by true audiophiles. Name brand subs DO NOT compare to this sub at this price...not even close.

I have to agree with others here that ID and Adire are awesome subs as well. My future project is to build a new home theater/audio sub using the Adire Audio Tempest (15"). I already have the driver and it is a beast and a tremendous value at $125. Tempests will go extremely low and they have excellent sound quality.

Check out some Adire installs here:

No problem Smoketitan, I'm visiting my folks right now anyways. But while I was up here I stoped by Circuit City and picked up a Infinity 10". I'd rather buy something I know I can return, even though the nearest Circuit City is 2 hours from my home. I plan on building a new box with the sub mounted down. I'll have to be a little creative to get the .75 cu. ft. for a sealed box. I want it to take up as little room as possible. I'll get those dimensions to you once I get home, probably Wednesday. Thanks for the suggestions dman, just a little out of my price range.

No problem Sammy, no doubt you will be very happy with the Infinity, they make good speakers. I am just trying to get people to think outside the so-called box.

Just like many people think Bose makes good audio equipment, it really is all marketing with them. Believe it or not, Bose actually makes very low quality equipment. However on the other hand, you can find some tremendous audio equipment out there that has much better sound quality than the typical name brands and for less money. Thank goodness for the Internet and word of mouth.

Let us know how the Infinity works out for you. Should sound great when you get it set up properly.

I second the vote for Dayton products at Parts Express. I've used many of the Dayton woofers for other projects (I build home speakers and amps as a hobby) and can attest to their capabilities and cost effectiveness. Since there is so little room under the rear seats, another woofer to consider is the Dayton 8" Quatro (http://www.partsexpress.com/pe/pshow...=295-545&DID=7). It's only 50 bucks, handles 150W RMS, and will work in a small sealed box (0.33 ft^3) or small ported box (0.5 ft^3 tuned to 35 Hz). Performance-wise it compares to the lower end JL-Audio 8's but at half to one-third the cost.
